Soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor in one-year prediction of major adverse cardiac events in patients after first myocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
Conclusions: Soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor level appears to be an independent useful biomarker for the prediction of major adverse cardiac events early after first myocardial infarction. The biomarker's level seems to have more prognostic than diagnostic power. PMID: 30697255 [PubMed]

Central hemodynamic parameters to predict cardiovascular outcomes and mortality among the elderly: protocol for a systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: Through this systematic review, we intend to summarize evidence that supports the use of central hemodynamic parameters for central blood pressure to diagnose and perform prognostics on arterial hypertension in elderly patients within clinical practice and predict future cardiovascular events in this population. Impact of type D personality on clinical outcomes in Asian patients with stable coronary artery disease

Relationship between High Level of Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate and Contrast-Induced Acute Kidney Injury in Patients who Underwent an Emergency Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
Conclusions: High level of eGFR might be associated with increased risk of CI-AKI in patients with emergency PCI, implying for future studies and risk stratification in clinical practice. PMID: 30127213 [PubMed - in process]

Impact of Baseline Bleeding Risk on Efficacy and Safety of Ticagrelor versus Clopidogrel in Chinese Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
Conclusion: Among real-world Chinese patients with ACS treated by PCI, ticagrelor only showed superior efficacy in patients with low bleeding risk but lost its advantage in patients with moderate-to-high bleeding potential. PMID: 30127210 [PubMed - in process]

Differences in management and outcomes for men and women with ST-elevation myocardial infarction.
CONCLUSION: Women with STEMI are less likely to receive invasive management, revascularisation, or preventive medication at discharge. The reasons for these persistent differences in care require investigation. PMID: 30025513 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Impact of Residual SYNTAX Score and Its Derived Indexes on Clinical Outcomes after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Data from a Large Single Center.
Conclusions: This study indicates that all three indexes (rSS, clinical rSS, and SRI) are able to risk-stratify patients and predict 2-year outcomes after PCI. However, their prognostic capabilities are different. PMID: 29893355 [PubMed - in process]

Low-Dose Unfractionated Heparin with Sequential Enoxaparin in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Complex Coronary Artery Disease during Elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
Conclusion: In elective PCI, low-dose UFH with sequential enoxaparin has similar effects and safety to the UFH-only method. PMID: 29578118 [PubMed - in process]

Prognostic significance of arterial stiffness and osteoprotegerin in patients with stable coronary artery disease
ConclusionsThese findings extend the current knowledge concerning the role of arterial stiffness as powerful biomarkers in cardiovascular disease. Comparison of RISK-PCI, GRACE, TIMI risk scores for prediction of major adverse cardiac events in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
CONCLUSIONS: In comparison with the GRACE and TIMI scores, RISK-PCI score showed a non-inferior ability to predict 30-day MACE and death in ACS patients. Moreover, RISK-PCI was the only scoring system that could predict recurrent ischemia requiring TVR. PMID: 29308832 [PubMed - in process]

Comparison of Long-term Outcomes in Patients with Premature Triple-vessel Coronary Disease Undergoing Three Different Treatment Strategies: A Prospective Cohort Study.
CONCLUSIONS: PCI and CABG provided equal long-term benefits for all-cause death and cardiac death for PTVD patients. Patients undergoing MT alone had the worst long-term clinical outcomes.
