Serum nitrate and nitrite levels in patients with hypertension and ischemic stroke depend on diet: A multicenter study.
CONCLUSION: Differences in serum NOx concentrations are associated with severity of hypertension only in patients on low nitrate diet. The highest concentrations of NOx were observed in patients with stroke. In the absence of dietary control, NOx levels were not associated with presence or severity of hypertension. Long non-coding RNA RMST silencing protects against middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)-induced ischemic stroke.
In this study, we mainly studied the role of lncRNA-RMST in middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)-induced mouse brain injury. Mesenchymal stem cells transfer mitochondria into cerebral microvasculature and promote recovery from ischemic stroke
In this study, the middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion surgery were conducted on rats, and mesenchymal stem cells were then engrafted into the injured cerebrovascular system. Our results showed that the host cells of injured cerebral microvasculature accepted the mitochondria transferred from the transplanted stem cells, thereby resulting in significantly improving in mitochondrial activity of injured microvasculature, enhancing angiogenesis, reducing infarct volume, and improving functional recovery. IM-12 activates the Wnt- β-catenin signaling pathway and attenuates rtPA-induced hemorrhagic transformation in rats after acute ischemic stroke.
In this study, we used IM-12, an inhibitor of glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK-3β), to evaluate the role of the Wnt-β-catenin signaling pathway in recombinant tPA (rtPA)-induced HT. Relationship between olfactory disturbance after acute ischemic stroke and latent thalamic hypoperfusion.
Abstract Odor detection, recognition and identification were assessed in 19 acute ischemic stroke patients who had no MRI-detectable thalamic lesions but in whom technetium-99m ethyl cysteinate dimer single photon emission tomography revealed thalamic hypoperfusion.
