WITHDRAWN: Chuanxiong preparations for preventing stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Nao-an capsule may be a choice for the primary prevention of stroke. However, the design of the study providing this evidence means that there was potential for results to have been affected by bias from the way participants may have been selected, or from investigators' conflicts of interests. There was a lack of description of the methodology in the two other studies therefore evidence from these was considered too weak to draw any firm conclusions. Further high quality research is required. PMID: 27258581 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Predictors of early infection in cerebral ischemic stroke.
CONCLUSION: Patients with older age, tube feeding, lower conscious level, worse baseline stroke severity, large cerebral infarcts in CT scan, and increased IL-10 serum level were more susceptible to infection. The baseline serum level of IL-10 ≥ 14.5 pg/ ml and the size of infarct area > 3.5 cm3 were the independent predictors of PSI. PMID: 27453748 [PubMed - in process]

Wake-up stroke: Clinical characteristics, sedentary lifestyle, and daytime sleepiness
Conclusion: Wake-up stroke occurs in approximately 25% of stroke cases. In this study, patients with WUS had more diabetes and sedentary lifestyle. Daytime sleepiness is frequent and is associated with sedentary lifestyle and heavy drinking.

Mental practice for treating upper extremity deficits in individuals with hemiparesis after stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: Moderate-certainty evidence shows that MP in addition to other treatment versus the other treatment appears to be beneficial in improving upper extremity activity. Moderate-certainty evidence also shows that MP in addition to other treatment versus the other treatment appears to be beneficial in improving upper extremity impairment after stroke. Low-certainty evidence suggests that ADLs may not be improved with MP in addition to other treatment versus the other treatment. Low-certainty evidence also suggests that MP versus conventional treatment may not improve upper extremity impairment. Further study is requ...

Stroke-ell átást támogató teleradiológiai hálózat a Nyugat- és Dél-Dunántúlon
CONCLUSION: With the help of the dedicated teleradiology stroke network, we want to optimize the stroke care in the region: on the one hand, patients who are likely to benefit from thrombectomy should not be left unattended, on the other, the health care system should not be burdened with cases, when intervention is not recommended having the complete clinical data accessed.
