The Hospital Zambrano Hellion venous thromboembolism rapid response team (PREVENTION-team): Improving pulmonary embolism and deep venous thrombosis patient care.
Abstract Background: Fast-track worldwide reperfusion programs improve outcomes in ST-elevation myocardial infarction and stroke. Similar programs called Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) focus on submassive and massive pulmonary embolism (PE) excluding deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Methods: PREVENTION-team (Hospital Zambrano Hellion Venous Thromboembolism [VTE] Rapid Response). Primary objective: Fast-track stratification, diagnostics, and treatment (60-90 min) to improve proximal DVT and submassive and massive PE patients care. Secondary objectives: Increase diagnosis rate of low-risk...

Incidence, clinical characteristics, and risk factors of peripartum cardiomyopathy in Nigeria: results from the PEACE Registry
ConclusionsIn Nigeria, the burden of PPCM was greatest in the North –West zone, which has the highest known incidence. PPCM was predicted by sociodemographic factors and pre‐eclampsia, which should be considered in its control at population level. Postpartum customary birth practices and Hausa–Fulani ethnicity were not associated with PPCM in Nigeria.

Psychosocial and behavioral characteristics of still smokers at 6 months after acute cerebro or cardiovascular events: Findings from INEV@L, a prospective pilot study
ConclusionOur pilot study in young workers highlights the low rate of smoking cessation, and generalized dual use of electronic + conventional cigarette at mid-term after acute MI or stroke. Our findings further suggest specific PSF pattern of non-quitters, associated with loss of perceived disease severity.

Low Consultation Rate of General Population with Atrial Fibrillation.
In conclusion, about one-third of the patients with AF did not regularly see a doctor in a medical institution and most of them had a CHADS2 score of more than one point in a Japanese rural area. Educating the public about the risks of AF is required. PMID: 31735770 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
