Potential Health Benefits of Deep Sea Water: A Review.
Authors: Mohd Nani SZ, Majid FA, Jaafar AB, Mahdzir A, Musa MN Abstract Deep sea water (DSW) commonly refers to a body of seawater that is pumped up from a depth of over 200 m. It is usually associated with the following characteristics: low temperature, high purity, and being rich with nutrients, namely, beneficial elements, which include magnesium, calcium, potassium, chromium, selenium, zinc, and vanadium. Less photosynthesis of plant planktons, consumption of nutrients, and organic decomposition have caused lots of nutrients to remain there. Due to this, DSW has potential to become a good source for health. R...

Headaches and Muscle Cramps
Many CF warriors experience chronic headaches. I have not yet heard from any doctors a clear and reasonable explanation as to why we have the headaches. My suspicion is that CF is not directly the cause of the headaches, but all the stuff we do and go through as a result of CF can point to several culprits. All I can contribute to this issue is my own experience. I have gone through periods of time with continuous headaches (if I don’t medicate the headache) and periods of time with absolutely no headaches. By the process of elimination, I have come to some conclusions. Due to CF causing a rapid depletion of vitamins...

Contemporary treatment of children with critical and near-fatal asthma

Serum magnesium levels in hospitalized patients with SARS-CoV-2
This study evaluated the outcomes of hypermagnesemia in patients with COVID-19. A retrospective chart review of patients admitted to the hospital with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection was conducted. A review of the medical literature regarding hypermagnesemia, magnesium levels in critical care illness and electrolyte abnormalities in patients with COVID-19 was performed. Differences in demographic and clinical characteristics of patients with hypermagnesemia and normomagnesemia were evaluated using descriptive statistics. Other known variables of disease severity were analyzed. 104 patients (54%) were identified with hyperma...

Aluminum phosphide poisoning: successful recovery of multiorgan failure in a pediatric patient
We report the case of a 3 year old girl with AlP poisoning who developed cardiogenic shock, ventricular arrhythmias, respiratory failure, liver injury, and significant acute kidney injury (AKI). She was successfully supported with veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) for 16 days, treated with lidocaine and magnesium sulfate for ventricular arrhythmias, and received continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and hemodialysis for 24 days for metabolic acidosis secondary to AKI. Despite her severe clinical presentation, she had complete normalization of her end-organ dysfunction with no neurological seque...
