Conclusion Recent advances in research on HTLV-1 provide better understanding of the molecular pathogenesis and mechanisms of HAM/TSP, and several clinical trials of novel therapies for patients with HAM/TSP have been initiated. However, long-term improvement of motor disability and quality of life still have not been achieved in HAM/TSP patients, and the clinical management remains challenging. Conclusion This study found that the ΔHR (HRt minus resting HR) correlated with duration of clinical recovery in participants who were prescribed relative rest or a placebo-stretching program but not for participants prescribed sub-threshold aerobic exercise. A ΔHR of ≤50 bpm on the BCTT was 73% sensitive and 78% specific for predicting delayed recovery in concussed adolescents prescribed the current standard of care (i.e., cognitive and physical rest). Inflammation and Atrial Electrical Remodelling in Patients With Embolic Strokes of Undetermined Source
About one third of ischaemic strokes are classified as embolic strokes of undetermined source (ESUS). A silent atrial fibrillation (AF) may play a pathogenic role in these strokes and P wave dispersion (PWD), representing an electrocardiographic (ECG) predictor for paroxysmal AF, thereby a potential marker of covert cardioembolism, was found to be increased in cryptogenic stroke. Furthermore, current evidence links AF to inflammation: inflammatory markers, such as high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP), have been related to the development and persistence of AF, possibly by promoting atrial remodelling.

Background and Aims: Intra-plaque angiogenesis (IP), present in advanced human atherosclerotic plaques, promotes unstable vascular disease and contributes to increased risk of myocardial infarction and stroke. Because proliferating endothelial cells (ECs) rely on glycolysis for up to 85% of their energy demand, glycolysis inhibition may represent a novel strategy to prevent IP neovascularization, thereby promoting plaque stabilization. 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase isoform 3 (PFKFB3) is a key enzyme of the glycolysis pathway and plays an essential role in angiogenesis.

Direct oral anticoagulants and therapeutic adherence: do not let your guard down
CONCLUSIONS: Polypharmacy, patient's isolation, such as a low education level were statistically associated with a low therapeutic adherence. Therapeutic adherence remains an unsolved problem for anticoagulated patient.
