Tolerability of partially and extensively hydrolysed milk formulas in children with cow's milk allergy.
CONCLUSIONS: Compared to rCMF, the partially and extensively hydrolysed whey and casein formulas evaluated in this study were better tolerated and therefore safer for children with CMA. Although further confirmation from additional centres is needed, our findings suggest the use of pHF in patients with mild CMA. Some children with CMA react to hydrolysed formulas; therefore, food challenge tests in these children should be undertaken with caution. PMID: 30896414 [PubMed - in process]

Wheat-induced food allergy in childhood: ancient grains seem no way out
ConclusionsPatients with sensitization to wheat show a significant IgE binding against both modern and ancient grain varieties of the genus Triticum. Therefore, ancient grains do not appear to have a generally reduced risk for wheat allergy sufferers. However, few individuals only sensitized to ATI could benefit from the consumption of einkorn.

Effects of supplementing different ratios of omega‐3 and omega‐6 fatty acids in western‐style diets on cow's milk protein allergy in a mouse model
ConclusionsOur results suggest that the ω‐3 PUFA rich diets alleviated the severity of allergic reactions, and may modulate immune response toward T helper cell (Th)1‐favoured immune response while the ω‐6 PUFA rich diet exhibited no allergy alleviation with a stronger Th2 polarized immune response.

Summary: Background & aims: To evaluate the knowledge and practice of pediatricians, pediatric gastroenterologists, allergists and nutritionists regarding the primary prevention of food allergy.Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study that enrolled pediatricians (n = 80), pediatric gastroenterologists (n = 120), allergists (n = 100) and nutritionists (n = 220). The Effects of Dietary Counseling on Children with Food Allergy: A Prospective, Multicenter Intervention Study
Although dietary counseling is generally recommended in children with food allergy (FA), its effect on the nutritional status of these patients has not yet been evaluated. Our nonrandomized multicenter prospective intervention study was undertaken to investigate the effects of dietary counseling on children with FA. Anthropometric data, dietary intakes, and laboratory biomarkers of nutritional status were evaluated in children with FA (aged 6 to 36 months) before and after dietary counseling, by multidisciplinary teams composed of pediatricians, dietitians, and nurses.
