Normative performance of healthy older individuals on the Modified Mini-Mental State (3MS) examination according to ethno-racial group, gender, age, and education level.
CONCLUSIONS: This large cohort of older individuals provides some of the most comprehensive 3MS normative data to be generated for whites (Australian and U.S.), Hispanic/Latinos and African-Americans, by age, gender, and educational attainment. These findings will serve as important reference standards for monitoring cognitive function in generally healthy older individuals, becoming increasingly important as this fraction of the population increases. Combination anticoagulant or P2Y12 inhibitor with low-dose aspirin versus low-dose aspirin alone in patients at risk or with documented coronary and/or peripheral artery disease
CONCLUSIONS: Compared to clopidogrel + low dose aspirin, the use of rivaroxaban 2.5 mg twice daily + low dose aspirin reduced the risk of MACE, CV death and stroke including ischemic stroke in patients with or at high risk for chronic CAD and/or PAD. These benefits of rivaroxaban 2.5 mg twice daily + low dose aspirin compared to clopidogrel + low-dose aspirin appear to be achieved without significantly increasing patients' risk of moderate-to-severe including ICH or fatal bleeding.PMID:34641745 | DOI:10.1080/03007995.2021.1991294

Physician's Knowledge and Practices Surrounding Low-Dose Aspirin for Preeclampsia Risk Reduction
Conclusion Despite clear professional guidelines, physicians demonstrated gaps in knowledge and differences in practices. Enhancing screening tools to assess patient's risk of developing preeclampsia and tailored medical education on moderate risk factors are needed to identify patients who may benefit from this intervention. Increasing the use of aspirin in patients at risk is critical given the benefits of low-dose aspirin in the reduction of poor maternal and neonatal outcomes related to preeclampsia. British respiratory trainee practice in consenting and preparation for conventional bronchoscopy
ConclusionsThere is great variation among British trainees in bronchoscopy consent and which risks are mentioned. This could be remedied by a uniform consenting proforma or formal training in the consent process. Furthermore, additional training in anticoagulant management pre-procedure appears to be indicated.

Drugs with potential chemopreventive properties in relation to epithelial ovarian cancer--a nationwide case-control study.
Authors: Baandrup L Abstract Ovarian cancer has a poor prognosis because the disease in the majority of patients is diagnosed at an advanced stage as a result of nonspecific symptoms and lack of efficient screening methods. Because of the poor prognosis of ovarian cancer and the challenge of early detection of the disease, identification of protective factors is important. It has been suggested that some commonly used drugs may have a protective effect against cancer, including ovarian cancer; however, the literature on chemopreventive measures for ovarian cancer is sparse and the results are inconclusive. Most pre...
