Proteinuria, but Not eGFR, Predicts Stroke Risk in Chronic Kidney Disease: Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort Study Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— Proteinuria and albuminuria are better predictors of stroke risk in patients with chronic kidney disease than estimated glomerular filtration rate. The impact of therapies targeting proteinuria/albuminuria in individuals with chronic kidney disease on stroke prevention warrants further investigation.

Proteinuria as an independent risk factor for contrast-induced acute kidney injury and mortality in patients with stroke undergoing cerebral angiography
Conclusions Proteinuria is an independent risk factor for CI-AKI and 1-year mortality in patients with stroke undergoing cerebral angiography. More attention should be paid to the development of CI-AKI in patients with stroke with proteinuria.

Conclusion:Appearance of vascular changes in SHRSPs, before any MRI-detectable brain lesion, is coupled to active neural proliferation in the SVZ. With disease progression, only newborn astrocytes can survive, likely because of the neurotoxicity triggered by brain oedema and oxidative stress.

Risk of Ischemic Stroke in Primary Aldosteronism Patients.
CONCLUSIONS: Proteinuria, a medical history of coronary artery disease or left ventricular hypertrophy were associated with an increased risk of ischemic stroke in PA patients. Our results suggest that a public health initiative is necessary to enhance the follow up of proteinuria and to manage subsequent stroke among patients with aldosteronism. Stroke features and management in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, including stroke. Patients with CKD are susceptible to ischemic as well as hemorrhagic stroke. Elevated Serum Creatinine Predicts Higher Mortality in Stroke Patients (P3.254)
Conclusions:Abnormal renal function at the time of stroke admission was noted in older male patients with hypertension and reduced pre-stroke eGFR.
