Ultrasonographic measurements of the metacarpal and talar cartilage thicknesses in hemiplegic patients after stroke.

Cranial Ultrasonography in Term Infants and Stroke: When Is It Useful? (P6.333)

Carotid Atherosclerosis and Cerebral Microbleeds: The Framingham Heart Study Epidemiology
Conclusions Cumulative vascular risk factor exposure may increase the risk of CMB, especially in deep regions. The apparent paradoxical association of carotid intima–media thickness progression with lower risk of CMB may reflect benefits of intensive vascular risk factor treatment among persons with higher cardiovascular risk and deserves further investigation. If replicated, the results may have potential implications for assessment of preventive and therapeutic interventions for subclinical cerebral hemorrhage.

Temporal Course of Dynamic Cerebral Autoregulation in Patients With Intracerebral Hemorrhage Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— In patients with supratentorial intracerebral hemorrhage, dynamic cerebral autoregulation is bilaterally impaired lasting at least 10 to 12 days and recovers within a month. Individual PD value is associated with clinical status at acute stage and affected-side PD on days 4 to 6 can be an independent predictor for clinical outcome.

Safety and efficiency of ultrasound-guided intermediate cervical plexus block for carotid surgery

A case of atraumatic convexal subarachnoid haemorrhage due to unusual cause
Conclusions This case shows that ICA stenosis can cause convexal SAH and it should therefore be added to the differential diagnosis of atraumatic SAH. The association is under recognised and can be missed due to the unusual location of the blood and failure to image the extra cranial carotid arteries.

Endovascular Treatment versus Sonothrombolysis for Acute Ischemic Stroke
Conclusions: This observational study suggests that endovascular treatment of acute major anterior circulation stroke is superior to sonothrombolysis in terms of functional outcome. This benefit seems to pertain primarily to patients with carotid T occlusion, whereas patients with M1 occlusion seem to profit in a similar way from both methods.
