Perflow Medical closes $12m round to support Stream Net thrombectomy device
Israel-based neurovascular device developer Perflow Medical said it closed a $12 million round of financing to help support its Stream dynamic neuro-thrombectomy net designed for treating acute ischemic stroke. Real-life behaviour of direct oral anticoagulants in a Spanish cohort with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation: Refase Registry.
CONCLUSION: Our results of safety and efficacy are very similar to those of other previously published national registries. There were no differences among the different types of DOAC regarding outcomes. However, it was found that people taking the adjusted dose of the drug seemed to have a higher risk of death. Analysis of the direct costs associated with mechanical thrombectomy and intravenous fibrinolysis in the Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias.
CONCLUSIONS: The mean cost of treatment with mechanical thrombectomy, as well as the total mean cost per patient during the acute phase of the disease associated with this technique, is higher than in the case of intravenous fibrinolysis. DiscussionAlthough the relative impact of convenience on therapy value is small, patients have different preferences for options within convenience criteria. Besides considerations on safety and effectiveness, physicians should also discuss attributes of convenience with patients, as it can be assumed that alignment to patient preferences in drug prescription and better patient education could result in higher adherence.
