A new research review has plenty of good news for people who love a good sauna session: Studies overwhelmingly suggest that the relaxing habit is also a healthy one.
A paper published Wednesday in Mayo Clinic Proceedings gathered existing findings on Finnish sauna bathing, the practice of spending time in relatively dry rooms heated to between 80 and 100 degrees, interspersed with periods of cooling. The Fatigue Assessment Scale: quality and availability in sarcoidosis and other diseases
Purpose of review
Fatigue is a problem experienced by many patients suffering from chronic diseases, including sarcoidosis patients. It has a substantial influence on patients’ quality of life (QoL). It is, therefore, important to properly assess fatigue with a valid and reliable measure. The Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS) is the only validated self-reporting instrument classifying fatigue in sarcoidosis. The aim of this review was to examine the psychometric properties of the FAS and the diseases and languages in which it has been used. Studies among sarcoidosis patients were also reviewed in terms of outcomes.

Association of galectin ‐3 with markers of myocardial function, atherosclerosis, and vascular fibrosis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
ConclusionsIn a relatively well ‐controlled cohort of RA patients with low‐grade systemic inflammation and long‐standing disease, serum galectin‐3 might be useful as a marker of cardiac function and cardiovascular fibrosis.
