Conclusions— An inverse volume–outcome relationship in CEA-treated patients was demonstrated. No significant association between hospital volume and the risk of stroke or death was found for CAS.

Conclusions The NCDR CEA score, comprising 7 clinical variables, predicts in-hospital stroke or death after CEA. This model can be used to estimate hospital risk-adjusted outcomes for CEA and to assist with the assessment of hospital quality.

Remote pre-procedural ischemic stroke was the strongest risk for stroke and death associated with carotid stenting. A single center experience.
CONCLUSIONS: In our experience all patients with remote pre-procedural any territory ischemic stroke belong to risky subgroup for periprocedural stroke death after CAS. All asymptomatic patients with remote ischemic stroke should not be treated with CAS. Remote ischemic stroke increases all-cause mortality in long-term follow-up after carotid stenting. Patients ≥ 75 years also have increased risk of periprocedural stroke and death after CAS. These factors should help us to be more selective when planning carotid procedures. Comparative mortality according to peripheral artery disease and coronary heart disease/stroke in the United States
CONCLUSIONS: In the US adults, PAD contributed to increased mortality in persons with and without CHD/stroke. The prognosis of PAD without CHD/stroke was no better than that of CHD/stroke without PAD. Neurological Events Following Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement and Their Predictors: A Report From the CoreValve Trials Structural Heart Disease
Conclusions— Predictors of early stroke after TAVR included clinical and procedural factors; predictors of later stroke were limited to patient but not anatomic characteristics. These findings indicate that further refinement of imaging to identify anatomic factors predisposing to embolization may help improve stroke prediction in patients undergoing TAVR. A meta-analysis of clinical risk factors for stroke in anticoagulant-na ïve patients with atrial fibrillation
ConclusionThis study confirms age and prior stroke as the strongest predictors of stroke or systemic embolism in anticoagulant-naive AF patients. Other predictors include hypertension, diabetes, heart failure, and vascular disease. Female sex seems not to be universally associated with stroke or systemic embolism.

Comparison of Antiplatelet and Antithrombotic Therapy for Secondary Prevention of Ischemic Stroke in Patients With Peripheral Artery Disease.
