No increased risk of cardiovascular events in older adults initiating dipeptidyl peptidase ‐4 inhibitors vs therapeutic alternatives
ConclusionAlthough limited by the short treatment period, the present study suggests there is no increased short‐term risk of MI, stroke or HF with DPP‐4 inhibitors vs SUs/TZDs.

National utilization patterns of warfarin use in older patients with atrial fibrillation: a population-based study of medicare part d beneficiaries.
CONCLUSIONS: Warfarin use rates vary by patient characteristics and region, with higher rates among residents of the Midwest and among patients seen by cardiologists and PCPs. ConclusionsSubstantial variability in use of S-LAAO exists. In many instances, the procedure is being deferred in the patients that may be poised to benefit the most (i.e., those with increased CHA2DS2-VASc score-defined stroke risk).

Conclusions Patients undergoing TAo TAVR are older, more likely female, and have significantly higher STS predicted risk of mortality scores than patients operated on by TA access. There were no risk-adjusted differences between TA and TAo access in mortality, stroke, or readmission rates as long as 1 year after TAVR.

Assessment of Cardiovascular Risk in Older Patients with Gout Initiating Febuxostat versus Allopurinol: A Population-Based Cohort Study.
Conclusions -Among a cohort of 99,744 older Medicare patients with gout, overall there was no difference in the risk of MI, stroke, new onset HF, coronary revascularization, or all-cause mortality between patients initiating febuxostat compared with allopurinol. However, there seemed to be a trend toward an increased, albeit not statistically significant, risk for all-cause mortality in patients who used febuxostat for over 3 years versus allopurinol for over 3 years.
