Predicting Adverse Events beyond Stroke and Bleeding with the ABC-Stroke and ABC-Bleeding Scores in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: The Murcia AF Project.
CONCLUSION:  In AF patients, the ABC-stroke and ABC-bleeding scores demonstrated similar predictive ability for outcomes beyond stroke and bleeding, including MI, acute HF, a composite of cardiovascular events, and all-cause deaths. Preoperative Stroke and Outcomes after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
Conclusions: The authors found no evidence that more recent preoperative stroke predisposed patients undergoing CABG surgery to suffer postoperative stroke, death, or prolonged length of stay. The combination of prior stroke and myocardial infarction substantially increased perioperative risk.

Low Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate is Associated with High Recurrence Rate and Poor Prognosis of Hemorrhage Stroke.
This study investigated whether a low estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) leads to a higher risk of stroke recurrence and a poor prognosis in hemorrhagic stroke patients. A total of 2000 stroke patients were recruited during 2000-2001 and prospectively followed up for a median of 4.5 years. Decreased risk of acute myocardial infarction in stroke patients receiving acupuncture treatment: a nationwide matched retrospective cohort study
Conclusions: We raised the possibility that acupuncture may be effective in lowering the risk of AMI in stroke patients aged 50–69 in this study, which was limited by a lack of information regarding stroke severity and acupuncture points. Our results suggest that prospective randomized trials are needed to establish the efficacy of acupuncture in preventing AMI.

Conclusions— TIA patients with high estimated ischemic stroke risk are less likely to receive defect-free care than low-risk patients. Standardized risk assessment and delivery of optimal inpatient care are needed to reduce this risk-treatment mismatch.

Conclusions Angiopathy is the most common risk factor for stroke at a young age. More than half of the patients with stroke at a young age have at least two independent risk factors for stroke. ConclusionsInterventional closure of PFO resulted in significant reduction of stroke and stroke/TIA compared with antiplatelets/anticoagulants with comparable bleeding rates between the groups, whereas AF occurred more frequently in the intervention group.
