Neurological manifestations in COVID-19: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Stroke is the most frequently reported neurological manifestation in COVID-19 and has the highest mortality rate. Neurological manifestations tend to develop one to two weeks after the onset of respiratory disease. There is significant morbidity and mortality associated with COVID-19 neurological manifestations. The pattern of neurocritical disorders in multicenter in Khartoum State November 2020 to January 2021
ConclusionStroke was the dominant diagnostic pattern requiring intensive care unit admission. Mechanical ventilation was the major indication for admission. Establishing specialized neurocritical intensive care units is highly recommended.

Primary Central Nervous System Vasculitis Triggered by Cytomegalovirus Encephalitis (P01.231)
CONCLUSIONS: Our case is the first reported case in the literature of proven CMV encephalitis triggering a subsequent non-infectious CNS vasculitis probably secondary to an autoimmune response. The absence of findings in the initial MRIs of the brain in spite of an intermittently symptomatic patient and the subsequent development of ischemic infarcts supports the theory of intermittent focal hypoperfusion, finally leading to infarction. Young woman with a four-year history of epilepsy and progressive focal cortical atrophy — What is the diagnosis?
We report the case of a young woman with a four-year history of epilepsy that progressed rapidly as evidenced by the development of progressive focal cortical atrophy. She underwent biopsy that showed perinatal ischemia and a prominent inflammatory response, including T-cell infiltration and microglial activation. There was no consensus reached on the final diagnosis although the hypothesis of dual pathology (adult variant of Rasmussen's encephalitis and perinatal stroke) was considered. The possible role of inflammation in the progression of epilepsy caused by a “static” lesion (perinatal stroke) is discussed.

Common etiologies of acute symptomatic seizures evolving from lateralized periodic discharges in patients monitored with continuous EEG (P2.233)
Conclusions:The most common high risk etiologies of acute symptomatic seizures evolving from lateralized periodic discharges in our cohort of patients were ischemic stroke, tumor, encephalitis, and subdural hematoma. Recognition of these etiologic factors may influence the duration of continuous EEG monitoring employed or the decision to institute seizure prophylaxis. Neurological Manifestations of Coronavirus Disease 2019: A Comprehensive Review and Meta-Analysis of the First 6 Months of Pandemic Reporting
Conclusions: The COVID-19 pandemic exerts a substantial neurologic burden which may have residual effects on patients and healthcare systems for years. Low quality evidence impedes the ability to accurately predict the magnitude of this burden. Robust studies with standardised screening and case definitions are required to improve understanding of this disease and optimise treatment of individuals at higher risk for neurologic sequelae.

The spectrum of Neuro-COVID: A study of a comprehensively investigated large cohort from India
Conclusion: Stroke and encephalopathy constitute the most common neurological manifestations. The absence of preceding COVID-19 symptoms in nearly half the cases is striking. Poor outcome was seen in nearly 50% despite early recognition and management.

Are We Aware of the Neurological Manifestations of Cytomegalovirus Infection in Immunocompetent Individuals?
Conclusion: CMV infection should be considered in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with neurological symptoms, even among immunocompetent individuals, because of the high possibility that patients can greatly benefit from antiviral treatment at the early stage.
