Conclusions— Vascular smooth muscle cell TNFα and sphingosine-1-phosphate signaling significantly enhance cerebral artery tone in SAH; anti-TNFα and anti–sphingosine-1-phosphate treatment may significantly improve clinical outcome.

Stroke Mimics in the Acute Setting: Role of Multimodal CT Protocol ADULT BRAIN
CONCLUSIONS: Multimodal CT demonstrated low sensitivity but high specificity in the diagnosis of stroke mimics in the acute setting. The high specificity of multimodal CT allows ruling out stroke and thereby avoiding unnecessary revascularization treatment in patients with diagnosis of a stroke mimic.

Attenuation of acute stroke injury in rat brain by minocycline promotes blood¿brain barrier remodeling and alternative microglia/macrophage activation during recovery
Conclusions: Early minocycline treatment against reperfusion injury significantly promotes neurovascular remodeling during stroke recovery by reducing brain tissue loss, enhancing TJP expression in ischemic brains and facilitating neuroprotective phenotype alternative activation of microglia/macrophages.

Lacunar stroke as a very late complication of radiotherapy: value of nuclear medicine techniques.
CONCLUSIONS: The reappearance of neurological symptoms years after radiotherapy of a brain neoplasm poses a diagnostic dilemma. Current diagnostic techniques are very accurate but present false positives. The various nuclear medicine techniques, in particular PET-CT 11C-methionine, are a diagnostic aid. With the presentation of this case we intend to draw attention to one of the late complications of radiation therapy and the various differential diagnoses. Acute ischemic stroke secondary to ventriculoperitoneal shunt dysfunction in a child with Moyamoya syndrome
CONCLUSION: Children who receive RT for brain tumor, particularly if the circle of Willis region is involved, require close surveillance for the development of vasculopathy and consequent stroke.
