Association between statin use & amp; risk of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: A systematic review & amp; meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: The present systematic review and meta-analysis found that statin use is associated with a 30 per cent reduced odds of DLBCL. However, the pooled analysis utilized data from observational studies so causation cannot be concluded upon. Hence, it suggested that randomized-controlled studies are still needed to confirm this potential benefit.PMID:37530309 | DOI:10.4103/ijmr.IJMR_2668_19

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 1760: Outcomes of Patients with Positive Interim Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Continuing ABVD in the Clinical Setting
In conclusion, interim PET interpretation in clinical practice may be associated with a higher rate of scans deemed positive. Irrespective of the criteria for PET2 positivity, a subset of patients may continue ABVD without a dismal outcome.

Complementary and alternative medical interventions for the management of anxiety in parents of children who are hospitalized and suffer from a malignancy: A systematic review of RCTs
Conclusions: The methodological quality of reviewed RCT's studies was low and many failed to provide sufficient information in order to assess their quality on many of the methodological indicators. Although, the review did not provide strong evidence in favor of CAM interventions, the results were encouraging. The studies showed promising results and some positive trends such as the feasibility and acceptability of CAM interventions in pediatric oncology/hematology unit.

Health-Related Predictors of Quality of Life in Cancer Patients in Saudi Arabia
AbstractResearch on Saudi Arabian cancer patients is a priority at King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Because there is limited research on the quality of life (QoL) of Saudi Arabian cancer patients, the aim of this study was to identify the predictors of the QoL in a sample of Saudis with cancer. In August 2016, a cross-sectional study was conducted on 438 patients with a variety of cancer types (145 breast, 109 colorectal, 38 leukemia, 45 lymphoma, and 99 other types) who attended the Oncology Outpatient Clinics at KAMC. Sociodemographics, clinical symptoms, and cancer treatments were collected for ...

Computer-aided search for 5-arylideneimidazolone anticancer agents able to overcome ABCB1-based multidrug resistance
ChemMedChem. 2021 Apr 30. doi: 10.1002/cmdc.202100252. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTABCB1 modulation is an interesting strategy in search for new anticancer agents overcoming multidrug resistance (MDR). Hence, 17 new 5-arylideneimidazolones containing amine moiety, as potential ABCB1 inhibitors was designed, synthesized, and investigated. The series was tested in both, parental (PAR) and multidrug resistant (MDR) overproducing ABCB1, T-lymphoma cancer cells using cytotoxicity assay. The ABCB1 modulating activity was examined in the rhodamine 123 accumulation test, followed by Pgp-Glo™ Assay to determine an influence of ...
