Activation of aryl hydrocarbon receptor ameliorates Rosacea-like eruptions in mice and suppresses the TLR signaling pathway in LL-37-induced HaCaT cells
CONCLUSION: AhR activation is beneficial in treating rosacea in a LL-37-induced rosacea mouse model and involves a suppression of the TLR signaling pathway in an HaCaT cell model of rosacea.PMID:35926563 | DOI:10.1016/j.taap.2022.116189 (Source: Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology)

Intense pulsed light treatment for inflammatory skin diseases: a review
AbstractAlthough intense pulsed light (IPL) has been commonly used in the field of medical cosmetics in recent years, the exact outcomes of IPL in the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases remain unclear. To assess the clinical evidence for the use of IPL in the treatment of various inflammatory skin diseases and propose evidence-based recommendations, we searched for relevant publications in the PubMed and Web of Science databases and provided updated information. The inflammatory skin diseases treated with IPL consisted of acne vulgaris, rosacea, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), atopic dermatitis (AD), Riehl ...

Efficacy and safety of non-insulated fractional microneedle radiofrequency for treating difficult-to-treat rosacea: a 48-week, prospective, observational study
AbstractRosacea is a common chronic facial inflammatory skin disease. However, treatment for “difficult-to-treat rosacea” cases has not been established. This 48-week, prospective, observational study analyzed patients who underwent three non-insulated fractional microneedle radiofrequency (NFMRF) sessions at 2-month intervals. Therapy efficacy, epidermal barrier function, and side effe cts were evaluated. 34 subjects completed the trial. NFMRF resulted in CEA score reduction from 2.65 ± 0.59 to 1.56 ± 0.50 (P <  0.001) and mean DLQI reduction from 16.70 ± 3.55 to 10.48 ± 2.92 (P <  0....

146 Prevalence of rosacea in transgender and gender diverse populations: A retrospective cohort study
The prevalence of rosacea has not been well studied in the transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) populations. We sought to determine the prevalence of rosacea among TGD patients receiving masculinizing gender-affirming hormone therapy (mGAHT) and feminizing GAHT (fGAHT) compared to cisgender patients. We conducted a retrospective cohort study using electronic health records from TGD and cisgender adult patients seen at Fenway Health between August 1, 2014 and August 1, 2020. Adjusted risk ratios (aRR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated using log binomial regression and adjusted for age, race, smoking status, ...

LB961 Clinical contexts of long-term antibiotic prescriptions for acne: A qualitative study
This study sought to examine provider knowledge, preferences, facilitators, and barriers that underpin oral antibiotic prescriptions for acne with a duration longer than 3 months. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 30 key stakeholders: 22 academic and community dermatologists, including experts from the American Acne& Rosacea Society and acne clinical guideline authors, 4 infectious diseases physicians with expertise in antibiotic stewardship, 2 dermatology advanced practice practitioners, and 2 dermatology residents.
