M291 the nose knows: sinonasal sarcoidosis presenting as isolated chronic nasal congestion refractory to standard therapies
Sinonasal sarcoidosis is rare, affecting only about 3% of patients with sarcoidosis, and may be difficult to identify without routine use of rhinoscopy. Typically, the presence of symptoms at extra-nasal sites leads to initial consideration of this diagnosis. (Source: Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology)

The Contribution of Galenics to Patients ’ Sensory Perception of Nasal Sprays After Nasal Surgery: Data from a Prospective Randomised, Controlled, Double-Blind, Crossover, Multicentre Study
ConclusionThe overall sensory perception of both nasal sprays was evaluated comparably well in patients after nasal surgery and overall the application of the new galenics nasal spray was preferred by significantly more patients compared to the comparator nasal spray. Patients with marked nasal abnormalities may have a greater benefit from the contribution of galenics as significant differences in the sensory evaluation by the nasal spray sensoric scale in favour of the new galenics product were shown for this subgroup.Trial RegistrationThe current study was registered in the EU Clinical Trials Register with the EudraCT No...

Bleeding Tendency in People Anesthetized with Sevoflurane Vs Isoflurane
ConclusionTo conclude, anesthesia with isoflurane can lead to a lower amount of intraoperative bleeding compared with sevoflurane. Therefore, isoflurane may be preferred as an inhalational agent for the maintenance of general anesthesia during tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy operations. (Source: QJM)

Rhinomanometry: point of care test (POCT) for allergic rhinitis in children?
Allergol Immunopathol (Madr). 2021 Sep 1;49(5):28-31. doi: 10.15586/aei.v49i5.429. eCollection 2021.ABSTRACTAllergic rhinitis (AR) is a global health problem: its prevalence is 23% in Europe, although it is underestimated because as many as 45% of the cases remain undiagnosed. Globally, almost 500 million people suffer from AR, which shows its increasing incidences. The diagnostic course of AR is based on clinical history, supported by anterior rhinoscopy. This inspects the anterior part of the nasal cavity accompanied by allergic sensitivity tests (cutaneous allergic skin tests or specific immunoglobulin E levels). The av...
