Be sure to check back daily for posts on skin cancer including how you prevent and detect it. Enjoy! A healthy glow. A base tan. Safer than the sun. I’ve heard these myths from indoor tanning proponents for years. The reality is there is not a single ounce of scientific merit to validate these fallacies. Beth shared her photos and experience living the Wheat Belly lifestyle: “I want to take a moment to thank you, Dr. Davis, for giving me a second chance at life through your knowledge and being willing to go against the grain, no pun intended. I started the Wheat Belly journey 4 months ago and knew this was for me. “I have spent my entire life overweight. I was on meds for blood pressure, insulin resistance, thyroid, psoriasis and received yearly cortisone shots in my legs for pyoderma gangrenosum caused by constant inflammation of the skin. These are just the major medical issues, but many more issues were pr...

Top 10 reasons to kiss wheat and grains goodbye forever
There are plenty of reasons to never allow your lips to meet a wheat bagel, sandwich, or pretzels again. But here are the top 10 most compelling, powerful reasons to tell the USDA and other providers of dietary advice to bug off with their “healthy whole grains” advice. Gliadin derived opiates (from partial digestion to 4- and 5-amino acid long fragments) increase appetite substantially–as do related proteins from rye, barley, and corn. This is a big part of the reason grains make you gain weight. Gliadin derived opiates are mind active drugs that trigger behavioral outbursts in kids with ADHD and autism...

Natasha reverses her psoriasis
Look at Natasha’s “before” and “after” photos of her psoriasis. “Before and after pics of my psoriasis healing 6 months into my new diet. Amazing what food can do to or for you. “I had been told there was no cure for it and was given a steroid cream to help ease discomfort. Look at me now!” Unlike, say, acid reflux, bowel urgency of irritable bowel syndrome, and joint pain in the wrists and fingers, the phenomena of autoimmune conditions recede more slowly, reflecting the more complex processes that reverse with wheat/grain elimination, as well as other phenomena that need ...

How NOT to have an autoimmune condition
Autoimmune conditions are becoming increasingly common. Estimates vary, but it appears that at least 8-9% of the population in North America and Western Europe have one of these conditions, with The American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association estimating a higher value of 14%. They are conditions that involve an abnormal immune response directed against one or more organs of the body. If the misguided attack is against the thyroid gland, it can result in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. If it is directed against pancreatic beta cells that produce insulin, it can result in type 1 diabetes or latent autoimmune diabetes o...

Biosimilars Update: FDA Staff Recommends Approval of First Biosimilar in U.S.; Agency Accepts Third Biosimilar Application For Review
FDA’s “Purple Book,” which lists all licensed biological products, currently has an empty column under the “biosimilar” heading, which would state imitation products deemed “highly similar” next to the listed reference. That may change soon. Tomorrow, the FDA will consider whether the Agency should approve Novartis AG's copy of Neupogen, Amgen Inc.'s successful injectable biologic used to prevent infection in patients on chemo therapy. FDA staff reviewers recommended approval for the copy on all five of its proposed indications yesterday. View the FDA Briefing Document in advance of the Oncologic Drugs...

From MedPage Today: ED Throughput: A Fixable Problem. As I travel the freeways of the various cities I visit, I often come across billboards announcing waiting times at the local ED, or billboards promising no wait at all. Sometimes they just advertise “faster” care, whatever that means. Mumps Checks NHL Players. It has been a bad year for mumps and not even elite athletes are immune.
