Differences in Oxygen-Induced Retinopathy Susceptibility Between Two Sprague Dawley Rat Vendors: A Comparison of Retinal Transcriptomes
CONCLUSION: Transcriptomic profiles differ substantially between rat pup retinas from Charles River Laboratories and Envigo at baseline and in response to oxygen-induced retinopathy, providing insight into vascular morphologic differences. Comparing transcriptomes identified new pathways for further research in oxygen-induced retinopathy pathogenesis and increased scientific rigor of this model.PMID:38152854 | DOI:10.1080/02713683.2023.2297346 (Source: Current Eye Research)

An Overview of One Health Concept Focusing on Toxoplasmosis
Turkiye Parazitol Derg. 2023 Dec 27;47(4):256-274. doi: 10.4274/tpd.galenos.2023.38039.ABSTRACTThe "One Health" concept is a universal approach to sustainably balancing and optimizing the health of humans, animals, and ecosystems. This approach is based on the health of humans, domestic and wild animals, and plants in a wider environment in which self-renewable ecosystems exist, with essential characteristics of integration, unifying and holistic perspective. Toxoplasmosis, one of the most common zoonotic infections in both terrestrial and oceanic ecosystems in the world, is an ideal model disease for the "One Health" appr...
