Retrospective comparison of G-EYE balloon-colonoscopy with standard colonoscopy for increased adenoma detection rate and reduced polyp removal time
Conclusions Introduction of G-EYE to an SC endoscopy room yielded considerable increase in ADR and notable reduction in PRT, particularly with the EMR technique. G-EYE balloon colonoscopy might increase the effectiveness of colorectal cancer screening and surveillance colonoscopy, and can shorten the time of endoscopic intervention. Full-thickness resection device for management of lesions involving the appendiceal orifice: Systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusions FTRD appears to be an effective method for managing appendiceal lesions. However, appendicitis post-resection occurs in a non-trivial number of patients and the R0 resection rate in appendiceal lesions is only 72%. Therefore, caution should be employed in the use of this technique, considering the relative risks of surgical intervention in each patient. The missing polyp: use of a stone basket for blind retrieval of a resected colon polyp fallen into the appendiceal cavity
A 59-year-old woman patient underwent EMR for a flat, adenomatous polyp (type 0-IIa, 1.5 cm  × 1.2 cm) in the cecum near the appendiceal orifice (A, left). After submucosal injection, the polyp was removed en bloc by a hot snare (A, right). The wound was then coagulated and closed by 3 metal clips. The whole procedure was uneventful until we realized that the freshly removed polyp had di sappeared. We speculated that the polyp might have fallen into the nearby appendix. To fish it out, we first expanded the appendiceal orifice with a conical transparent cap (B), and a zebra guidewire (Boston Scientific, Marlborough, Mass...

The association between endometrial polyps, chronic endometritis, and IVF outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: We found a frequent association between EPs and CE. The pregnancy rate obtained after IVF was negatively affected by the presence of EPs. Treatment of these pathologies improved IVF outcomes.PMID:37782198 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202309_33810 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

Underwater polypectomy at the appendiceal orifice in a patient on anticoagulation
Rev Esp Enferm Dig. 2023 Sep 29. doi: 10.17235/reed.2023.9842/2023. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA 78-year-old male on warfarin for deep venous thrombosis is referred to us for resection of a sessile polyp in the cecum. A high-definition Fujifilm BL-7000 processor, virtual chromoendoscopy, and EC-760ZP-V/L magnifying endoscope were used. Diathermy source, ERBE VIO 3. Auto cut mode, Effect 5, 80 watts, and Soft coagulation mode, Effect 5, 60 watts. Underwater polypectomy ensued with resection in two fragments. The resection bed was invaginated into the appendiceal orifice, hence no other measures were considered to prevent...
