Biology + Lab Requirement Confusion??
I met with my advisor today for the first time ever. I just transfered to my university last semester and we were reviewing my courses i've taken and making sure i'm on track for med school with my prereqs. Up until literally today (like 4 hours ago) I was under the impression I had completed all my biology prereqs at my community college. My CC offered 1 semester of general biology + lab, and then I took microbiology + lab, Human Anatomy + lab, and human Physio + lab. I figured that was... Biology + Lab Requirement Confusion?? Highest Yield Info for New Clinical Students?
Hey all! I'm going to be starting rotations soon and I was wondering what would be the best sort of things to read up on before hand? I've obviously learnt up quite thoroughly on the basic sciences and what not (anat, physio, path, management, presentation etc. ). Some of the older students have said learning to interpret things like EKGs can be useful? Any recommended resources e.g. making a differential diagnosis, decision making that would be of benefit or would it just be no use without... Highest Yield Info for New Clinical Students? Do in-progress courses have negative effect on your chances?
Hello friends, I am applying for this upcoming cycle. I will be having 2-3 in-progress courses for this cycle - not Anatomy nor Physio. All the schools have noted they will allow them. However, do they negatively affect ones' chances? Does anyone have insider scoop? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

close relative working in Emory
Almost most schools ask the question of is anybody related to you work in the school/university. How does this work. One of my uncle works as a physiotherapist. when said Yes for this question do I get any preference. My Mcat/gpa average is inline with EMORY school median mcat/gpa. I have 2 options md/phd and MD. In the above case which one would yield better results. Thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Got a 520ish on COMSAE. Curious what to think.
Hey all, I got a 520 on this year's COMSAE. Sorta disappointed? I mean I was planning on taking the USMLE and I am almost done with UWORLD (88%ish with a 50% average). I'm really just aiming for PMR, Neuro, and IM but not even sure if I should take the USMLE now. I was really studying for the USMLE, not doing a lot of pharm and physio since USMLE has mainly patho but I having been doing other nonpath subjects too. Just really disappointed though. I mean is a 520 good enough to match into... Got a 520ish on COMSAE. Curious what to think. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How to improve my app before applying in 2020?
Anything I should add or change? I'm currently a sophomore and will apply at the beginning of my senior year. Current resume: 3.0 GPA (definitely needs the most help, I know. I'm confident that my schedule next year will allow me to bring this up at least a 3.2/3.3 by the time I apply). I'd say my projected pre-req GPA will be a 3.5-3.7 (I have all 4.0s and one 3.5 in everything so far except anatomy - 2.5. Retaking in spring. Taking physio in fall). Taking GRE in the fall. ~40...
