(CANADA) Does poor Grad School GPA matter?
Long story short, I am a Canadian in my late 20s that holds two undergrad degrees. I partied a bit too much during my first bachelor (BSc in biology) but smarten up during my second degree (BA in health sciences) which resulted in a steep upward GPA trend; I started with a 2.3 GPA during my 2nd year of BSc then finished with a perfect 4.0 GPA full course load for 6 semesters straight during my BA. Currently, I am in my last semester of Masters of Physiotherapy degree (MPT) with an cGPA of... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is this a good plan to study for part 1 boards? Recommendations/criticisms/advice all are welcome!
Hi y'all so my boards are coming up this July and I don't know where to start. I dug into some of the forums on here and came up with this plan. Please let me know your thoughts! I am kinda nervous and really just wanna pass. 1) Micro/Pharm-Sketchy. 2) Path- view class capture of board reviews from school (3x)-->if time permits then do first aid (3x). 3) Physio-BRS (MAYBE class notes if I cannot understand something from BRS). 4) General Anatomy-100 concepts... Doing well in a postbacc
So I just got accepted into Temple's BCHS post-bacc program which starts in about 2 weeks (May 10th), I wanted to know if any other members had tips or tricks for doing well in a post-bacc program. It doesn't have to be specific to Temple, but just in general, especially with courses like Organic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physio,. and the "hard" sciences. Any advice is appreciated. Study advice for winter break - M1
Hey all! Current M1 who just started winter break looking for some advice. So far we've finished anatomy and a combined class that covered mostly biochem/basic physio/immuno/basic path and some pharm as well. Now that I have some free time, I was hoping to start using AnKing and other resources in preparation for step 1 and COMLEX. Does anybody have any recommendations as to how I should approach studying over break? Should I start watching videos and unsuspending cards based on what we... Mobile/Traveling Equine Practice and Physiotherapy- Does this exist?
So I was just sort of curious if anyone knows of an equine vet who does this, and if it's even a viable option. Would being a "traveling" equine vet (as in covering multiple states and not really having a "home base" practice) be possible with licensing/client relationships? I plan to go into equine practice (of some capacity) and would like to eventually get certified in chiro/acupuncture/physiotherapy and mostly work in that capacity. (I am aware that isn't an "immediate" career goal, and... Mobile/Traveling Equine Practice and Physiotherapy- Does this exist? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cold feet about starting school
Hi guys. I just got accepted to a reputable DO school! So grateful. However, the past couple of months I have been having cold feet about medicine. I just wanna know what you guys think. I'm probably worrying for no good reason. I'll list reasons for/against doing it: For: -I love science/biology. Loved my SMP, which had physio, histo, embro, pharm, biochem classes, etc. I did pretty well (3.72 GPA) -I like working with people, making lifelong friends with my patients -I like the... Physiology refresher
Has anybody found a good resource for physiology refresher lectures? Or, pathophysiology? Would love to find on par with MS 1/2, but even undergrad level physio level. Harvard has one, but its live. Looking more for on demand / flexibility. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Tips for review anatomy/physio prior to medical school?
I know most people would suggest not to study prior to matriculating, but due to COVID19 I have too much free time + quarantined. I am looking to just refamiliarize myself with basic anatomy - not study. I have heard from MS2's at the school I'll be attending that anatomy is extremely rigorous on MS1's and many students have to repeat. I barely remember any anatomy from undergrad. If I wanted to review some high yield anatomy in advance how would you go about doing so? Thanks in advance. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Hate medicine...love surgery....but I want a life? What are my options?
When I entered medical school, I was so passionate about medicine and science. However, the longer I am in medical school the more I realize I actually really don't enjoy "real" medicine (i.e. spending hours on rounds discussing electrolytes or complex medical care or patients that are on 20 medications). I don't want to do specialties like anesthesia because I don't enjoy physio or pharm and I don't want to do internal because spending all my time on rounds sounds miserable. I do... What sports physician actually do
Hi, i´m reading a lot of thread here and i’m still wondering what family doctor with a fellowship in sport can actually do to treat msk pathology. Because I understand they don’t do surgery and I don’t think they do the maneuvers doing by the physiotherapist. So what are their role between ortho and pt? Are they doing some stuff like msk echo, infiltration or others? thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I take pathophysiology or developmental biology?
If you've taken these classes, which did you prefer and why? I'm currently taking human physio, so taking pathophysio next quarter could be a nice segue into what goes wrong with the body, but I also enjoyed the reproductive system/fetal development, so developmental biology seems interesting as well. Both seem to be of comparable difficulties. Any suggestions? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
