WaPo: How Reps Manipulate Doctors
Perspective | I was a drug rep. I know how pharma companies pushed opioids. Wining and dining aside, it’s all about building trust with doctors www-washingtonpost-com.cdn.ampproject.org Whenever I hear pain doctors vehemently "debating" which waveform is best for axial low back pain, I think of this... CMS thinks I received money from big pharma during residency.
I just discovered that I received, without my knowledge, over $18,000 from drug and medical device companies. CMS believes I got food, travel, speaking/consulting fees... while I was a resident! I looked up some of my co-residents, but the results were inconsistent. Some received money like I allegedly did, while others didn't even show up. Clearly, somebody at CMS messed up big time. But it's too late for me. Apparently, you have to dispute the information within the same year it's posted... CMS thinks I received money from big pharma during residency. Physicians just prescribe so they get kickbacks
I’ve heard this line so many times. On the news, in the ED, etc. There seems to be a perception that physicians are paid by Pharma companies by the script. It’s laughable, but irritating. Anybody else running into this? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

New Pharmacist Salaries - Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid
I have been searching online for how much the big pharma retailers are offering these days (2019) since it appears that rates are significantly different from last year. I have heard of new floaters and staff receiving $50/hr or less <32hr per week in Walgreens. I hear new PICs (Rx Manager) are being offered $55-60/hr for 32/42hr weeks in CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens. Is this true? Can you share what you know about the new rates for new pharmacists in your area? Thank you. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Got an offer from industry... should I move on?
I work as an inpatient pharmacist for few years now and I always wanted to try industry since pharmacy school. I got an offer from a big pharma industry as a medical affairs associate which I know I am very fortunate. I heard from the interview that the future is endless with this job and I am very excited. However, I have read few threads here and I'm hearing a lot of job security issue vs. hospital pharmacist. It's not like I would be staying as a staff pharmacist as well. We are... Industry Pharmacist.. Real or Myth?
Hi all, thank you for giving me a bit of your time to read this. Background: I'm a P2 going into my P3 year getting really interested in working for the Pharma industry. I have some questions about industry pharmacy. First off, what should I do to get myself most competitive for midyear and the fellowship process? I think Pharma can offer great and rewarding careers, the problem is getting your foot in the door. My GPA is good, I've done independent research (with a poster presentation and... De-Compensation
Hello everyone, Any reasoning behind the downtrend of Oncology compensations? I have been hearing/reading that future for compensation for Oncology will be lower than that of a hospitalist in not too long. It is strange that with all the growth of this specialty it's being financially restricted. Is it all because the specialty is being "bought" by hospitals and hence pharma which would naturally reduce the salary to a minimum. I'm just curious because despite that the nation is destined... Supplementing your income "working" for big Pharma...
I know a couple of physicians who are being compensated by big Pharma (making 6-figure) as consultants and/or speakers... Are these things easy to get/do? Are there other things one can do for big Pharma to supplement your income legally? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
