Ectopic expression of HNF4 α in Het1A cells induces an invasive phenotype
We examined the competitive ability of Het1A cells stably expressing HNF4α or CDX2 and placed in confrontation with unmodified Het1A cells. The key result is that stable expression of HNF4α, but not CDX2, increased the ability of the cells to migrate and push into the unmodified Het1A domain. In this situation the boundary between the cell types is a sharp one, as is normally seen in BO. The experiments were conducted using a variety of extracellular substrates, which all tended to increase the cell migration compared to uncoated plastic. These data provide evidence that HNF4α expression could have a potential role in t...

Interim analysis of patient-reported outcome compliance and dosimetry in a phase 3 randomized clinical trial of oesophagus-sparing spinal radiotherapy
CONCLUSION: Compliance was lower than anticipated and interventions to maintain study power are needed.PMID:37647380 | DOI:10.1080/0284186X.2023.2251083 (Source: Acta Oncologica)

Pharmacological treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux in children
CONCLUSIONS: There is very low-certainty evidence about symptom improvements and changes in pH indices for infants. There are no summary data for endoscopic changes. Medications may or may not provide a benefit (based on very low-certainty evidence) for infants whose symptoms remain bothersome, despite nonmedical interventions or parental reassurance. If a medication is required, there is no clear evidence based on summary data for omeprazole, esomeprazole (in neonates), H₂antagonists, and alginates for symptom improvements (very low-certainty evidence). Further studies with longer follow-up are needed. In older children...

Evaluation of the Diagnostic Value of Oesophageal Biopsies for Direct Immunofluorescence Microscopy in Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid
In conclusion, oesophageal direct immunofluorescence samples were inferior to oral and cutaneous biopsies for the diagnosis of mucous membrane pemphigoid even when oesophageal lesions compatible with mucous membrane pemphigoid were present at the time of biopsy.PMID:37622202 | DOI:10.2340/actadv.v103.11947 (Source: Acta Dermato-Venereologica)
