Nutrition LOR = science LOR?
My strongest letters would come from my nutrition professors and PI. I assume this would be fine since anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and biochemistry are prerequisites for many nutrition classes and it’s all science. They aren’t looking for basic science letters right? @LizzyM (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Post-Bacc/Masters Program Advice
Looking for some advice. Due to a variety of reasons I'll be graduating in Spring 2020 with a gpa of probably only slightly more than 2.5 (I know I royally ****ed up). However, I received a GRE score of 330. I also took some practice MCATs and I scored around 518- this is without much prep, I'm hoping to take it this summer after preparing and receive in the 520s. ECs are fantastic: I've given poster presentations for my research in culture-based diets/nutrition and also for philosophy... Post-Bacc/Masters Program Advice (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Metabolic medicine?
I read that chemical pathologists can specialize in metabolic medicine. I just stumbled accross this yesterday and found it quite intriguing My questions are: What do you guys treat and do, typical work and patient contact? All I hear its a relatively newer subspecialty and that they can treat any metabolic manifestations and are involved in parenteral nutrition. There's a fair amount of lab and patient contact which sounds cool. Involved in treating diabetes, hypertension, obesity... Metabolic medicine? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I have worked for a very well known international organization on public health data analysis/grant writing/knowledge management etc. for 3 years. I just left my job, and I overall find the work unfulfilling. I am still love the health field and believe in preventive medicine, but I would find something... 28 y.o. Public Health to Med? What do premeds do in research?
Hello, I recently started college, so I do not have that much experience in health science, let alone clinical research. I do really well in my current science courses, but I haven't started my biology/anatomy courses yet, so I only know the basics of these 2 subjects. I wanted to start doing research so I reached out to a nutritional health researcher. He replied that he could look into it but that he wants to know what I want to do/will do in his research projects. My problem is that I... What do premeds do in research?
