Ankle biter tasks
Just curious (as a current fellow) what attending life looks like in regards to the little “ankle biter” tasks from nurses/RT/pharmacy that seem to pile up and really jam up work flow in the unit. Would also be very curious if this changes with having an APP or solo coverage. Things like… Patient needs “mechanical soft” modification of their diet orders Restraint orders need to be renewed at 6:55 pm The duonebs are ordered as inhalation but we need it ordered as via ET tube RT can’t... WAMC and should I consider DO?
Hi guys. This is my first time posting here, and I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place. My inspiration to become a physician came from my aunt who is the best psychiatrist in the world and introduced me to this passion when I was young. I am an immigrant from Brazil, and completed both undergrad (UMBC, BA in Biological Sciences; GPA 3.47 with significant increase in grades in junior and senior year) and grad school (Columbia University, MS in Human Nutrition; GPA 3.9) in the US. I... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ohio State vs UVA
Hi everyone! I would love to hear some feedback about your opinions of these schools and which you think might be a better fit for my interests. I've done research in nutrition/gut microbiology for 4 years and definitely want to continue doing lots of research in med school (preferably still in this area). As of right now, I want to go into academic medicine and possibly specialize in internal medicine (gastro maybe?) plus I want to do some global health electives. Ohio State... Mississippi State vs Illinois (Exotic Interest)
Hello! I have been lucky to obtain a few acceptances for my cycle. With that being said, I have just received a decision from my final school that I applied to, and now I need help deciding where to go! My interest at the moment currently rests with more of companion exotics, such as the birds, rabbits, pocket pets, reptiles, rodents, etc. Seeing that I will be coming back to WV in the future, wildlife/rehab would also be of interest. Other interests include animal nutrition and feline... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Prerequisite Classes via Dual Enrollment
I’m currently a highschool student (freshman) doing dual enrollment. However I am thinking of taken some of my prerequisite classes through dual enrollment/dual credit. (Nutrition, English, Psychology, and speech) Now here’s where the twist comes, suppose I take some of these classes freshman & sophomore year, so on. Some of these classes would be 5 years or older by the time I graduate university and apply to a dental school. Does this mean I would have to retake them? I am a Texas... Food
Adams applauds NYC hospitals for feeding patients plant-based meals over meat by default in climate push Eric Adams cheered NYC hospitals for serving patients plant-based meals, saying food production/consumption is the city's third-largest source of emissions. www.foxnews.com Hahahahahaha. This is a recipe ... for disaster. When I say disaster, I mean low press ganey scores. An emerging realization for very large hospitals and health systems is that food served, and ability to get at non-routine meal times, greatly impact patient satisfacti...

Geriatric Unit Dispositions
As I watch the news these days. It dawned on me, if we are culturally accepting of our elected leaders having dementia, perhaps we should expand our geriatric unit dispositions. Expedite this pipeline. Arrange family meetings, at time of admission, for families that have a little bit more resources, to consult with political campaign managers, for their viability to run for office. Just check the box "Campaign Manager Consultation" it will be right under Social Work order, Dietary, and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Does this LOR qualify as a science LOR?
Hello, I have a letter from a human nutrition professor that is pretty well written. I am concerned that this may not count as a science letter at some schools. However AACOMAS does list human nutrition as a science course, and it is calculated in your sGPA, which leads me to believe it would count towards the science letter requirements. What do you guys think? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
