Contextual barriers and enablers to establishing an addiction-focused consultation team for hospitalized adults with opioid use disorder
CONCLUSIONS: Hospitals planning to implement an ACS in the inpatient setting may wish to engage in a systematic pre-implementation contextual assessment using a similar framework to understand and address potential barriers and contextual factors that may impact implementation. Pre-implementation work can help ensure the ACS and other new practices fit within each unique hospital context.PMID:38671482 | PMC:PMC11046820 | DOI:10.1186/s13722-024-00461-x (Source: Addiction Science and Clinical Practice)

Healthcare providers' perceived barriers and facilitators to screening for intimate partner violence in pregnant women attending prenatal clinics
CONCLUSION: Although higher-than-expected number of healthcare providers reported screening of pregnant women for intimate partner violence, the extent of screening is still suboptimal. The barrier to screening identified needs to be addressed and facilitators promoted. Receiving training among healthcare providers on intimate partner violence screening was associated with higher levels of screening; thus, this needs to be enhanced to optimize screening rates. Future studies should assess screening practices objectively and implement interventions to improve healthcare providers' intimate partner violence screening rates.I...

Adult survivors' perceptions of their childhood and the influences of being treated for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia with allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation as a child: A phenomenographic study
CONCLUSIONS: The results emphasised that adults who had been treated for childhood ALL with aHSCT were affected both in negative and positive ways during their childhood. This indicates the importance for early psychosocial care interventions directed to children during their treatment, but also the need for person-centred psychological care in long-term outpatient clinics.PMID:38669953 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejon.2024.102592 (Source: European Journal of Oncology Nursing)
