Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1528: Perioperative and Oncological Outcomes of Percutaneous Radiofrequency Ablation versus Partial Nephrectomy for cT1a Renal Cancers: A Retrospective Study on Groups with Similar Clinical Characteristics
In this study, we investigated the results of US-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and partial nephrectomy (PN) in the treatment of cT1a renal cancers. Between August 2016 and February 2022, 271 patients with renal tumours underwent percutaneous RFA as initial treatment in our institution. In the same period, 396 patients with renal tumours underwent surgical tumour excision. For the purpose of this study, only patients with confirmed renal cancer with matched age and tumour characteristics (size, location) were selected for both groups. Thus, a group of 44 PN patients and 41 RFA patients were formed with t...

Early experience and future prospects regarding use of newly developed surgical robot system, hinotori, in the field of urologic cancer surgery
AbstractIn the field of urology, robotic surgery has gained rapid and wide acceptance as a standard surgical approach in the majority of major surgeries over the last decade. To date, the da Vinci surgical system has been the dominant platform in robotic surgery; however, several newly developed robotic systems have recently been introduced in routine clinical practice. Of these, hinotori, the first made-in-Japan robotic system, is characterized by various unique and attractive features different from the existing system, and the use of this system has gradually increased mainly in urologic cancer surgeries, including radi...

Multimodal Treatment of Chylous Fistula: A Retrospective Case-Control Study
This study presents the treatment modalities performed on patients who developed CF over a 10-year period. During the observation period, CF developed in 29 patients, 16 of whom were women. The mean age was 55.76± 13.48. Lymphatic duct injury was mostly seen in the abdomen (58.6%) and the most common reason was nephrectomy (20.7%). Extended lymphatic dissection due to malignancy was performed in 82.7% of all cases. Chylous leakage started postoperatively on 3.78±3.94 days (range: 1-19 days). Fasting, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and somatostatin treatment were applied to all patients, and 75.8% of the fistulas were ...
