Treatment patterns and survival outcomes in patients with non-metastatic early-onset pancreatic cancer
CONCLUSION: AT improves postoperative survival in localized patients. Surgery after NAT and RCT are the preferred therapeutic options for patients with locally advanced EOPC.PMID:38617739 | PMC:PMC11008379 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v30.i12.1739 (Source: World Journal of Gastroenterology)

Effects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy < em > vs < /em > chemoradiotherapy in the treatment of esophageal adenocarcinoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Although nCRT may have a higher pCR rate, it does not translate to greater long-term survival. Moreover, nCRT is associated with higher 30-d mortality, although the specific cause for postoperative complications could not be identified. In the case of nCT, toxic side effects are suspected, which can reduce the quality of life. Given the quality of available studies, further randomized trials are required.PMID:38617451 | PMC:PMC11008422 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v30.i11.1621 (Source: World Journal of Gastroenterology)

Biofunctional study on chemoresistance in esophageal squamous carcinoma cells induced by missense mutation of < em > NOTCH1 p.E450K < /em >
CONCLUSIONS: The NOTCH1 p.E450K point mutation causes chemotherapy resistance in KYSE140 and KYSE450 ESCC cells. Cell functional experiments showed that the NOTCH1 p.E450K point mutation enhanced the proliferation, migration and invasion abilities of KYSE140 and KYSE450 cells and increased the number of cells in S phase.PMID:38617785 | PMC:PMC11009606 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-23-1880 (Source: Journal of Thoracic Disease)

Comparisons of short-term outcomes between robot-assisted, video-assisted, and open esophagectomy for resectable esophageal cancer after neoadjuvant treatment: a retrospective study
CONCLUSIONS: Compared to VAMIE, no clear benefit exists for RAE in the treatment of resectable EC after neoadjuvant therapy. OE resulted in a longer hospital stay. Although the rate of successful right RLN node removal was higher with RAE, the clinical relevance for this is yet unclear.PMID:38617777 | PMC:PMC11009584 | DOI:10.21037/jtd-24-75 (Source: Journal of Thoracic Disease)
