Evaluating virtual visits for contraceptive counseling: an exploratory study using the Person-Centered Contraceptive Counseling (PCCC) scale, a patient-reported outcome measure
To describe patient-reported quality of care for virtual contraceptive counseling, using the 4-item Person-Centered Contraception Counseling (PCCC) scale. Secondary analyses evaluated PCCC scores by patient subgroups. (Source: Contraception)

MR-guided stereotactic radiation therapy for head and neck cancers
CONCLUSION: The use of Monaco treatment planning and online adaptation can achieve dosimetric results comparable to VMAT plans, with the additional benefits of real-time tracking of target volume and nearby critical structures. This offers the potential to treat aggressive and variable tumors in HN SBRT and improve local control and treatment toxicity.PMID:38510980 | PMC:PMC10950743 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctro.2024.100760 (Source: Cancer Control)

Derivation and validation of a risk-stratification model for patients with probable or proven COVID-19 in EDs: the revised HOME-CoV score
Conclusion The revised HOME-CoV score, which does not require laboratory testing, may allow accurate risk stratification and safely qualify a significant proportion of patients with probable or proven COVID-19 for home treatment. (Source: Emergency Medicine Journal)

Gut microbiome in the first 1000 days and risk for childhood food allergy
CONCLUSION: The maternal and infant microbiomes throughout the first 1000 days of life influence FA risk through a number of proposed mechanisms. Further large, longitudinal cohort studies employing taxonomic, functional, and metabolomic analysis of the bacterial and viral microbiomes are needed to provide further insight on the host-microbe interactions underlying FA pathogenesis in childhood.PMID:38494114 | DOI:10.1016/j.anai.2024.03.010 (Source: Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology)

Cognitive assessment to optimize prediction of functional outcome in subacute hip fracture: a short-term prospective study
CONCLUSIONS: Contrary to our hypothesis, MoCA but not RAVLT and FAB retained the prognostic role when the scores from the three tests were evaluated together as potential predictors of functional ability in activities of daily living.CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: In the presence of a normal (or mildly altered) score on the SPMSQ in subacute hip fracture, MoCA scores improve prediction of activities of daily living and should be routinely performed.PMID:38483331 | DOI:10.23736/S1973-9087.24.08203-0 (Source: European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine)
