Question to the insurance gurus:
Let's say you are planning to retire before you get Medicare health insurance due to age and you want to get private insurance. Looking around the cheapest available for a couple are the high deductible at around $950 a month with $14,700 total deductible and no out of pocket costs afterwards. Is there any other insurance product that would pay for such deductible? I looked around and found that Aflac and Metlife sell some sort of critical care illness, cancer, etc., insurance. Would... pharmacy audit and invoice
How often have you guys seen Medicaid/Medicare or even commericial insurances ask for invoices as part of rx audits? In my very short experience so far I have gone through one Humana audit where they just basically looked at the validity and accuracy of rx's. But then when we try to EXACTLY bill the ndc of the drug we actually dispense it makes me wonder if in audit some of those rare mismatches will be penalized.. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Diabetic insoles, shoes, and Medicare coverage
I routinely prescribe shoes and insoles for my patients who qualify, but a lot of them complain about them not fitting right or not being comfortable. When I examine the insoles, they are typically trilaminer insoles, but some of them have only two layers with claims that they last up to a year so the pt only ended up with a single pair rather than the 3 pairs I’m used to telling them about. Have you heard about this? I tried looking into pubmed for evidence behind the why we’re using... Diabetic insoles, shoes, and Medicare coverage (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How are doctors paid in hospitals (esp. if Medicare)?
Hi there, I am doing some research on health topics in the US and I am struggling to understand how hospital doctors are paid. It would be fantastic if somebody would take the time to help me a bit! So if a Medicare patient is treated as an inpatient in a hospital, I understand that the hospital bills Medicare for the appropriate DRG. Do I get it correctly that most doctors working in hospitals are not employees but they would separately bill Medicare for each service? And how would it... Would you still want to become a physician if the government passed "Medicare for all?"
Roughly 37% of the country is on some type of government health insurance plan (Medicare/Medicaid/CHIP/VA/etc). Medicaid pays for about 40% of all births. The rest are either uninsured, on Obamacare or have insurance through employment. Do you think it would be with it to go through medical school & residency if we were under a Medicare for all system? Medicare for all

Walgreens billing questions
Can somebody please explain in simple terms how the heck you bill test strips and diabetic supplies to Medicare properly? I always get these TPR rejects about "CMN form" that I'm not sure how to explain to the customer. SRT-100 and SRT-Vision - Standard of Care?
Hi. I am trying to get an idea on what would be an appropriate way to administer SRT SRT is a controversial modality (due to billing codes etc). It is hard to find some sort of standards I know that "SRT-100" units used to make bank with people billing all kinds of radiation oncology codes. It is now standardized to 77401 which puts it at ~$25 per treatment by medicare. With all simulation, it comes out to be $1000 a tumor. Now Sensus is coming out with NEW "SRT-100 VISION" with... PBM Contracting Job
There is a staffing-contract opportunity with a PBM. Both are through Medicare D billing. One is where I call for patient compliance, counseling that patient and making recommendations if it is related to non-compliance, etc. The second job is a prior authorization pharmacist. I approve or not. Both are renewable and possible direct hire down the road. The second sounds more clinical, better for the resume? I've never worked anything like these two jobs before, so I don't know if it is good... PBM Contracting Job (Source: Student Doctor Network)
