Liposuction-Only Breast Reduction: A Systematic Review of Outcomes
ConclusionMacromastia leads to a considerable health burden, especially in health-related costs. From the current evidence base, liposuction-only breast reduction appears to be a safe and effective procedure, especially in patients requiring a mild –moderate breast volume reduction and mild ptosis correction. More research is required, with standardised subjective and objective outcome measures, and longer follow-up periods to confirm the effectiveness and safety of this technique.Level of Evidence III This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. In Vitro Study of Thymosin Beta 4 Promoting Transplanted Fat Survival by Regulating Adipose-Derived Stem Cells
ConclusionsT β4 enhances adipose viability in AFG via facilitating ADSC proliferation and reducing apoptosis, and acts as a crucial positive regulator of ADSC-associated angiogenesis. Additionally, Tβ4 could be accountable for the phenotypic adjustment of ADSCs by regulating the Hippo pathway. No Level AssignedThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each submission to which Evidence-Based Medicine rankings are applicable. Quality of life following liposuction for lipoedema: a prospective outcome study
CONCLUSIONS: Liposuction improves the quality of life in lipoedema patients. Post-operatively, our patients reported less pain and were more satisfied with their bodies and appearance. The hypothesis that liposuction in lipoedema improves the quality of life as a multidimensional construct could be confirmed.PMID:38402815 | DOI:10.1016/j.bjps.2024.02.048 (Source: Hand Surgery)

“Quality of life following liposuction for lipoedema: a prospective outcome study”
For the first time this study examines the impact on quality of life after liposuction for lipoedema. Aesthetic plastic interventions and their influence of treatments on the quality of life was a major concern of our research group during the last twenty years. Temporary external skin plication: a helpful new technique in gynecomastia surgery
CONCLUSIONS: ETSP provides a homogeneous spread of the excess skin and greatly reduces or eliminates the amount of skin fold formation. ETSP reduces the need for possible skin excision and reduces visible scars and incisions, and it helps improve the results of skin-protective surgeries that are widespread today.PMID:38305618 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202401_35076 (Source: Pharmacological Reviews)

Effects of Heated Infiltration Solutions and Forced-Air Heating Blankets on Intraoperative Hypothermia During Liposuction: A Factorial Randomized Controlled Trial
ConclusionsHeated infiltration solutions and forced-air heating blankets could reduce the incidence of intraoperative hypothermia and improve patients ’ prognosis after liposuction under general anesthesia. Compared with the heated infiltration fluid, the forced-air heating blanket may have a better thermal insulation effect.Level of Evidence I This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Comparative analysis of surgical modalities for the gynecomastia treatment: efficiency and aesthetic outcomes
AbstractThis retrospective study rigorously compares the clinical efficacy of three surgical methodologies for treating gynecomastia while providing guidance for future surgical modality selection. We analyzed records of 77 gynecomastia patients treated between January 2015 and October 2022. Patients were categorized into three groups: Group A (subcutaneous gland resection via areola incision), Group B (liposuction combined with single-hole endoscopic gland resection), and Group C (liposuction combined with three-hole endoscopic gland resection). Parameters assessed included patient demographics, intraoperative bleeding, s...

Adipose biopsy techniques for studies in human exercise physiology
Am J Physiol Regul Integr Comp Physiol. 2024 Jan 15. doi: 10.1152/ajpregu.00266.2023. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTAdipose biopsy techniques are relatively undefined for exercise physiology research in individuals at or near normal weight. The purpose of this study was to compare the influence of two adipose biopsy techniques on tissue quality through measurements of adipocyte cell size, as well as mRNA and protein levels of select pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines and adipokines. Thirteen participants (9M, 4W; 28±4 y; 27±3 kg•m-2; VO2max: 3.3±0.7 L•min-1) underwent subcutaneous adipose biopsies on either side o...
