Utilization of Noncontrast Magnetic Resonance Lymphangiography for Selection of Effective Surgical Method in Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema
Conclusions: In conclusion, this study demonstrates that NMRL imaging is a useful modality for determining the most effective surgical method and predicting the surgical outcome in patients with lymphedema. This highlights the importance of using NMRL in the treatment planning of lymphedema patients.PMID:37763775 | PMC:PMC10537151 | DOI:10.3390/medicina59091656 (Source: Medicina (Kaunas))

Complications of Injected Exogenous Growth Factor for Cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation: A Case Series and Sequential Therapy
ConclusionsThis study highlights the management of complications arising from exogenous growth factor injections through the implementation of a sequential therapy approach. Specifically, this approach involves the initial administration of drug injection therapy, and if drug injection therapy proves ineffective, then surgical treatment is pursued. In conclusion, the injection of exogenous growth factors into soft tissues should be forbidden.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Evaluation of Blood Loss in Third-Generation Internal Ultrasound-Assisted Liposuction
ConclusionKnowing the reduction rates in Hgb and Htc with the third-generation internal UAL is useful to plan the amount of aspirate to be taken, the amount of blood loss that may occur with the third-generation internal UAL, and the postoperative care of the patients.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Ultrasound-Assisted Lipoplasty
Over the past 40  years, liposuction has evolved into a highly sophisticated method of body contouring. The addition of ultrasound technology to traditional liposuction (SAL), has increased the efficacy of the procedure and expanded the indications for lipo-contouring in multiple anatomic regions. As UAL devices co ntinue to evolve and improve, tissue fragmentation is maximized while energy delivery to the tissues is minimized. What was once considered large volume SAL, is now accepted as moderate volume for UAL since it is associated with less blood loss and decreased surgeon fatigue. (Source: Clinics in Plastic Surgery)

A New Surgical Technique for Female-to-Male Top Surgery: The Posterioinferior Pedicle (PIPe) Approach
ConclusionsOur study presents a novel surgical approach utilizing the posteroinferior pedicle technique. Its key benefit lies in the preservation of neurovascular function, which makes it an attractive option for patients seeking to retain nipple sensitivity. This procedure is reliable, reproducible, and recommended as a first-line treatment for grade II and III gynecomastia due to its low rate of major complications and favorable functional and aesthetic outcomes.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 4347: Unlocking Drug Resistance in Multiple Myeloma: Adipocytes as Modulators of Treatment Response
een DeCicco-Skinner Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable hematological malignancy characterized by the clonal proliferation of malignant plasma cells. Despite the development of a diverse array of targeted drug therapies over the last decade, patients often relapse and develop refractory disease due to multidrug resistance. Obesity is a growing public health threat and a risk factor for multiple myeloma, although the mechanisms by which obesity contributes to MM growth and progression have not been fully elucidated. In the present study, we evaluated whether crosstalk between adipocytes and MM cells promoted drug resi...

Small Intestinal Perforation after 360-Degree Liposuction: A Case Report
ConclusionsWhile safe, elective cosmetic procedures are not without risk of serious and even fatal complications. Providers must be familiar with the presentation of bowel injury following abdominal liposuction to prevent delays in appropriate surgical and medical care.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Treatment of retracted, postsurgical scars and reduction of locoregional edema using a combined three-dimensional approach of liposuction lipofilling, dissecting cannulas, and suspension sutures
ConclusionsThis study shows that the proposed technique is a safe minimally invasive alternative for the treatment of abdominal and inguinal retracted scars. The relatively high rate of minor complications is mainly due to the strict definition of the scale used. The results showed an improvement of local edema and high patient satisfaction.Level of evidence: Level IV, therapeutic (Source: European Journal of Plastic Surgery)
