Medical Conditions, Oral Health Practices, and Barriers to Treatment among Patients Visiting a Teaching Dental Hospital in Eastern Saudi Arabia
CONCLUSION: The study showed that dental patients had a high prevalence of medical conditions. Diabetes mellitus was the most prevalent problem. Most patients visited the dental hospital to receive restorative treatment, and a long waiting time was the most common barrier to dental visits. Public health measures should be taken to improve the general health and oral care of patients.PMID:35153627 | PMC:PMC8837447 | DOI:10.1155/2022/4495757 (Source: The Scientific World Journal)

Prolonged Inhalation Exposure to Coal Dust on Irradiated Rats and Consequences
ScientificWorldJournal. 2022 Feb 2;2022:8824275. doi: 10.1155/2022/8824275. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTThe purposes of this study were to research immune system changes and liver and lung tissues in irradiated rats after prolonged exposure to coal dust. A study was carried out on 30 male Wistar rats that were divided into 3 groups: group I, intact animals; group II, exposure to coal dust and 0.2 Gy γ-irradiation; and group III, combined exposure to 6 Gy γ-irradiation and coal dust. The combination of a low and sublethal dose of γ-irradiation with coal dust leads to a significant change in immunity at the remote period. Pa...

Taxonomic and Ecological Notes on < em > Termes propinquus < /em > Holmgren, 1914 Known from Sumatra (Blattodea: Termitoidae: Termitidae)
ScientificWorldJournal. 2022 Feb 2;2022:9475722. doi: 10.1155/2022/9475722. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTThe genus Termes Linneus, 1758 consisting of a total of 24 valid named species known from the Old World, is a very heterogeneous group of termites and seems to involve many taxonomic obscurities and confusions. In the island of Sumatra, the sixth-largest island located in the Southeast Asian tropics, four species of Termes have been found, namely, T. comis, T. laticornis, T. rostratus, and T. propinquus. Termes propinquus is also known from Brunei, Indonesia (Kalimantan and Sumatra), Malaysia, and Thailand. However, previou...

Ordinal Logistic Regression Analysis in Determining Factors Associated with Socioeconomic Status of Household in Tepi Town, Southwest Ethiopia
CONCLUSIONS: According to the findings of this study, ordinal regression may be a better option in the event of the ordinal form of the outcome. Furthermore, PPOM may be a preferable option if any of the covariates violate the proportionality requirement. Based on the result of this study, the most likely associated indicators with the SES of families in Tepi town, southwest Ethiopia, were family size, age, saving habit, and education level. It is recommended that action should be taken to improve the SES of households.PMID:35153626 | PMC:PMC8831068 | DOI:10.1155/2022/2415692 (Source: The Scientific World Journal)
