Phytochemical Analysis and < em > In Vitro < /em > Antioxidant and Antibacterial Activity of Different Solvent Extracts of < em > Beilschmiedia roxburghiana < /em > Nees Stem Barks
In this study, we performed the phytochemical screening, estimation of total phenolic and flavonoids, antioxidants, and antimicrobial activities of the stem bark of Beilschmiedia roxburghiana Nees using different solvents. The total phenolic and total flavonoid contents ranged from 106.73 ± 1.62 mg GAE/g and 99.32 ± 0.66 mg QE/g (methanol extract) to 65.59 ± 1.79 mg GAE/g and 29.98 ± 0.90 mg QE/g (n-hexane extract), respectively. The maximum 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 39.86 ± 3.69 μg/mL was observed for methanol extract ...

Duration of of Low-Temperature Storage, Clove Topping and Gibberellic Acid on Emergence, Yield and Yield Components of Garlic
ScientificWorldJournal. 2022 Mar 24;2022:2998190. doi: 10.1155/2022/2998190. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTDormancy of freshly harvested garlic cloves does not allow early emergence, and preplanting garlic clove treatment is critical for more than one cycle of production in a year. This field experiment was conducted to assess the effect of treating cloves on emergence, growth, and yield of "Tseday" variety during the main cropping season of 2014/2015 and off-season of 2015/16 at Haramaya University. The experiment was arranged in a factorial combination of four (cold stored at 7°C for the duration of 10, 20, and 30 days and s...

The Quality of Counseling for Headache OTC Medications in German Community Pharmacies Using a Simulated Patient Approach: Are There Differences between Self-Purchase and Purchase for a Third Party?
CONCLUSIONS: Due to the partly considerable deficits in counseling of German CPs, policy-makers and the regional chambers of pharmacists are called upon to take appropriate measures to improve the quality of counseling. It is positive that no differences in counseling between self-purchase and purchase for a third party were found, but further verifying studies with a modified methodology are recommended.PMID:35370483 | PMC:PMC8967581 | DOI:10.1155/2022/5851117 (Source: The Scientific World Journal)

The Study on the Relationship between Normalized Difference Vegetation Index and Fractional Green Canopy Cover in Five Selected Crops
ScientificWorldJournal. 2022 Mar 21;2022:8479424. doi: 10.1155/2022/8479424. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTCrop models are of great use and importance in modern agriculture. Most models imply spatial vegetation indices, such as NDVI, or canopy cover characteristics, such as FGCC, to provide estimation of crops conditions and forecast productivity. The purpose of the study was to (1) determine the possibility of mutual conversion between spatial NDVI and Canopeo-derived FGCC in five crops (grain corn, sunflower, tomato, millet, and winter wheat) and (2) estimate the precision of such a conversion. The data set of the study was f...

ScientificWorldJournal. 2022 Mar 16;2022:4806889. doi: 10.1155/2022/4806889. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTGinkgo biloba L. (Ginkgoaceae) is one of the best-selling products, popular in nutritional properties and health benefits. In the present study, the total phenolic compounds and flavonoid content of the ethanolic extract from G. biloba tea were also evaluated. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity was determined using DPPH assay and tyrosinase inhibitory activity was also determined with L-DOPA as a substrate. The extract showed the total phenolic compound and flavonoid content were 14.13 mg GE g-1 extract and 71.33 mg rut...
