Neuromodulation for Pain: A Comprehensive Survey and Systematic Review of Clinical Trials and Connectomic Analysis of Brain Targets
Conclusions: Research for pain neuromodulation is a rapidly growing field. Our connectomic network analysis reinforced existing knowledge of the pain matrix, identifying both well-described hubs and more obscure structures. Further studies are needed to decode the circuits underlying pain relief and determine the most effective targets for neuromodulatory treatment.Stereotact Funct Neurosurg (Source: Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery)

Does the Timing of Radiosurgery after Grade 1 Meningioma Resection Affect Long-Term Outcomes?
Conclusion: Postoperative GKSRS was associated with excellent long-term tumor control for WHO grade 1 meningiomas, regardless of the interval after initial surgery. In addition, earlier radiosurgery was associated with superior symptom improvement.Stereotact Funct Neurosurg (Source: Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery)

Is It Possible to Save the Deep Brain Stimulation Hardware when Presenting with Wound Dehiscence or Hardware Infection?
Conclusion: Wound dehiscence can be successfully managed without complete removal of the DBS system in most cases. In cases of infection, removing the involved component(s) and sparing the intracranial leads may be considered. Wound revision without removal of the entire DBS system is safe and can improve quality of life by preventing or shortening the withdrawal of DBS treatment.Stereotact Funct Neurosurg (Source: Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery)

Age as an Independent Predictor of Adult Spinal Cord Stimulation Pain Outcomes
Conclusion: This study represents the largest study where age was correlated to specific pain, depression, and disability outcomes following SCS. We provide evidence that SCS outcomes are equivalent, or better, in older patients following SCS. Based on these findings, SCS is a viable option for treatment of chronic pain in elderly patient populations.Stereotact Funct Neurosurg (Source: Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery)

Rescue Anterior Capsulotomy after Failure of Nucleus Accumbens Deep Brain Stimulation in Anorexia Nervosa: A Case Report
Anorexia nervosa (AN) is a highly disabling mental disorder with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Few psychological treatments and pharmacotherapy are proven to be effective for adult AN. Two invasive stereotactic neurosurgical interventions, deep brain stimulation (DBS) and anterior capsulotomy, are now commonly used as investigational approaches for the treatment of AN. Here, we report the long-term safety and efficacy of rescue bilateral anterior capsulotomy after the failure of bilateral nucleus accumbens (NAcc)-DBS in an 18-year-old female patient with life-threatening and treatment-resistant restricting subtype...

The Poised Cannula Technique Reduces the Stereotactic Error of the Fiducial-Less Frameless DBS Procedure
Conclusion: The poised cannula technique results in a reduction of large errors (#x3e;2.5 mm), resulting in a decline in these errors to 2.5% of implants as compared to 17% in our previous publication using the fiducial-less method and 4% using fiducial-based methods of DBS lead placement.Stereotact Funct Neurosurg (Source: Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery)
