Periungual < b > < i > Mycobacterium marinum < /i > < /b > Infection following a Fish Manicure
Fish pedicures and/or fish manicures are treatments performed in spas involving the use of the living fishGarra rufa. In the last decade, the use ofG. rufa for cosmetic and therapeutic reasons has become increasingly popular. The patients are placed into a bath to control psoriasis, eczema, or other skin conditions, but there is no scientific proof of their effectiveness. Most of the infections described in association with fish spas result from minor skin injury and contact with fish carrying such bacteria asStaphylococcus aureus,Aeromonas sobria, andMycobacterium marinum. Turban Tumor Syndrome: In Search of a Gold Standard – A Case Report
Turban tumor syndrome (TTS) is a rare condition characterized by predisposition to developing multiple adnexal tumors. It is the rare autosomal dominant genodermatosis that is associated with the mutation of the CYLD suppressor gene. We herein report rare TTS in an adult who suffered from numerous episodic ulcerations of the scalp tumors and frequent bleeding following a minor trauma. The plain radiograms of the skull excluded bone marrow infiltration, and no regional lymphadenopathy was noted. The patient underwent total scalp excision and split skin grafting under general anesthesia in a single-stage operation. Recovery ...

Successful Treatment of Coexistent Acne Fulminans and Severe Hidradenitis Suppurativa with Adalimumab
We present a case of a 17-year-old man who presented with a 2 years history of severe acne and HS. He was initially started on oral clindamycin and rifampicin for 3 months with no clinical improvement. Acne lesions became worse with the presence of nodules and necrotic ulcers, while weight loss, low-grade fever, back and knee pain, and psychological distress were noted. We prescribed adalimumab in its standard dosing regimen. Remission of AF was achieved in 3 months, whereas adalimumab has not been as effective in treating the HS lesions. Its dosage was increased to 80 mg weekly and more than 80% clinical improvement of HS...

A Rare Case: Primary Venous Malformation in Parietal Bone
Primary intraosseous vascular malformations (PIVMs) are rare intraosseous lesions, accounting for approximately 0.5 –1% of all intraosseous tumours. In this case report, we aimed to present a rare case of intraosseous vascular malformation causing a large lytic area in the parietal bone. A 25-year-old male patient was admitted to the clinic with a mass on the parietal bone. On physical examination, it was obser ved that the hair density on the mass was decreased, the mass had a soft consistency, and there was no pain on palpation. The patient was operated under local anaesthesia with a provisional diagnosis of a trichile...

Intermammary Hidradenitis Suppurativa: Considerations on a Unique Presentation
Conclusion: Intermammary HS possibly represents a unique phenotypic presentation, likely to be fistulizing and severe. We believe that anatomo-functional considerations, which can be paralleled to pilonidal sinus disease, contribute to its pathophysiology and striking appearance, and further emphasize the importance of multidisciplinary endeavor to reduce the morbidity associated with this seemingly overlooked location.Skin Appendage Disord (Source: Skin Appendage Disorders)

Transillumination: A Diagnostic Tool to Assess Subungual Glomus Tumors
Diagnosis of subungual glomus tumors is mainly based on clinical symptoms, including paroxysmal pain, tenderness, and cold intolerance. Dermoscopy, ultrasonography, and MRI constitute further diagnostic tools, commonly performed to demarcate the tumor before surgery. Herein, we present 2 cases of subungual glomus tumors, which could be diagnosed after fingertip transillumination, highlighting that this technique can serve as an easy, noninvasive, and cost-effective adjuvant diagnostic tool, to facilitate the clinical diagnosis of subungual glomus tumors as well as their localization during preoperative assessment.Skin Appe...

The Association among Pyoderma Gangrenosum, Ulcerative Colitis, and Hidradenitis Suppurativa and the Syndromic Hidradenitis Suppurativa Network: A Case Report
Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), together with other inflammatory diseases, is involved in a syndromic network where different combinations of signs and symptoms characterize the definition. The observation of the concurrent occurrence of HS, pyoderma gangrenosum (PG), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), in detail ulcerative colitis (UC), led the authors to describe a new association. The patient, a 36-year-old woman, who saw IBD as the first appearing condition, shortly followed by HS and PG, was referred because of a clinical situation quickly worsening. A severe aggravation of both GI symptoms and general systemic situa...
