Preoperative Digital Subtraction Angiography in Incidental Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysms
ConclusionThe rate of aneurysms that were detected by DSA but not by MRA was very low, thus potentially justifying visualization of the vessel harboring aneurysm alone; however, the four-vessel angiography detected further small aneurysms in patients with multiple aneurysms and therefore seems to be indicated in this specific subgroup. This approach has the potential to reduce the risk of complications, the intervention time and thus radiation exposure. (Source: Klinische Neuroradiologie)

Cervical Spine Prospective Feasibility Study
ConclusionsDynamic DTI of the cervical spine is feasible and ADC increased in the patient group in extension. This finding may open a previously unexplored avenue to attempt an earlier identification of myelopathy. (Source: Klinische Neuroradiologie)

Posterior Circulation Occlusions May Be Associated with Distal Emboli During Thrombectomy
ConclusionPosterior circulation occlusions were significantly associated with distal emboli during thrombectomy, possibly due to the lack of flow arrest during such procedures. New techniques and devices should be developed to protect against embolic complications during posterior circulation stroke thrombectomy. (Source: Klinische Neuroradiologie)

Diagnosing Neoplastic Hematoma: Role of MR Perfusion
ConclusionIn our small series, the combination of peripheral linear enhancement and increased CBF and CBV showed 100% sensitivity, specificity, PPV and NPV for diagnosing a  neoplastic hematoma. These findings need to be validated in a larger study. (Source: Klinische Neuroradiologie)

Various Cranial and Orbital Imaging Findings in Pediatric Abusive and Non-abusive Head trauma, and Relation to Outcomes
ConclusionNeuroimaging findings can be helpful in discriminating these two conditions on presentation, as well as in helping solidify the suspicion of AHT. Regarding eventual outcome in AHT, the most important predictor is clearly HII. (Source: Klinische Neuroradiologie)

Mechanical Thrombectomy Using the new Solitaire ™ Platinum Stent-retriever
ConclusionThe usage of the Solitaire ™ Platinum stent-retriever for MT in acute ischemic stroke patients was highly effective and was not accompanied by an increased periprocedural complication rate. (Source: Klinische Neuroradiologie)

High Isotropic Resolution T2 Mapping of the Lumbosacral Plexus with T2-Prepared 3D Turbo Spin Echo
ConclusionOur approach enables isotropic high-resolution and B1-insensitive T2 mapping of LSP nerves with excellent reproducibility. It might reflect a  robust and clinically useful method for future diagnostics of LSP pathologies. (Source: Klinische Neuroradiologie)

Imaging Patterns of Rhino-Orbital-Cerebral Mucormycosis in Immunocompromised Patients
ConclusionImaging findings of inflammatory tissue infiltration adjacent to the paranasal sinuses with possible extension into the pterygopalatine fossa, infratemporal fossa and orbit or the cavernous sinus should raise the suspicion of a  mucormycosis, especially in immunocompromised patients. Neuroradiologic Characteristics of Primary Angiitis of the Central Nervous System According to the Affected Vessel Size
DiscussionIt is essential to differentiate between small and medium/large vessel PACNS since results in MRI, digital subtraction angiography and brain biopsy may differ immensely. Since image quality of MR scanners improves gradually and brain biopsy may often be nonspecific or negative, our results emphasize the importance of MRI/MRA in the diagnosis process of PACNS. Effect of Perfusion on Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging Estimates for In Vivo Assessment of Integrated 2016 WHO Glioma Grades
ConclusionThe MK and MD estimates of DKI are influenced by microcapillary blood perfusion; however, taking the effect of perfusion on DKI metrics into account does not substantially impact their overall diagnostic performance in classifying glioma according to the 2016 CNS WHO.
