The Super Thin External Pudendal Artery (STEPA) Flap for Labia Minora Reconstruction in Gender-Affirming Vaginoplasties
In gender-affirming vaginoplasty, the ideal labia minora should be well-defined and separate from the labia majora, extend from the clitoral hood to form an elliptical framework around the vaginal introitus and urethral meatus, and be gently covered by the labia majora.1 Penile-inversion vaginoplasty (PIV) techniques, using a random-patterned flap of penile and scrotal skin for the minoraplasty, often fail to achieve a lasting, well-defined separation between the labia minora and majora, and vaginal vestibule. “Ambulatory Facial Feminization Surgery: A Comparative Analysis of Outcomes and Complications”
To date there are no studies investigating the safety and outcomes of facial feminization surgery (FFS) as an outpatient procedure. This is the first study of its kind analyzing the outcomes of ambulatory FFS based on a comparison of complications, postoperative Emergency Department or Urgent Care (ED/UC) visits, and readmissions between FFS with admission versus same-day surgery. Retrospective Study on Unilateral Polyotia Combined with Microtia Utilizing the Technique of Preserving Residual Ear Tissue
The presence of polyotia in individuals with microtia is a rare deformity. Due to the intricate structure of the auricle, uncertain etiology, and challenging corrective techniques, it has always been a focal point in the field of plastic surgery. The present study presents a technique for correcting the combination of polyotia and microtia by utilizing residual ear tissue as graft material. Recurrence rate and patient-reported outcomes after wedge excision of carpal boss
The treatment of carpal boss is primarily conservative. Surgical treatment by performing a wedge excision of the bony protrusion, is possible. However, a common belief exists that carpal boss should not be operated because of the high recurrence rate. Additionally, little is known about the clinical outcomes of wedge excision and the preferred postoperative treatment. Patients with carpal boss and persisting pain who underwent wedge excision after conservative treatment were included. They received questionnaires before and three months after surgery.
