Continuity of medication management among adults with schizophrenia and comorbid cardiometabolic conditions
ConclusionsGreater antipsychotic adherence for adults receiving prescriptions from multiple psychiatric specialists was counteracted by lower statin adherence and greater risk of ED and inpatient utilization. This may help inform optimal care models for these complex individuals. (Source: Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research)

Nostoc cyanobacteria species: a new and rich source of novel bioactive compounds with pharmaceutical potential
Abstract The cyanobacteria and predominantly the genus Nostoc are known as producers of dozens pharmacologically active compounds, composed of abnormal amino acids, which have aided them to survive in varied and highly competitive ecological niches. Their function as antiviral, antitumour, antibacterial, antiā€HIV and a food additive has been well set up. This high degree of chemical diversity in bioactive compounds of cyanobacterial Nostoc species may thus create a prolific source of new entities leading to the development of new pharmaceuticals. This review provides the comprehensive overview of metabolites and novel bi...

Stakeholder views do matter: a conceptual framework for medication safety measurement
ConclusionsStakeholders require complex information across multiple dimensions to assess medication safety in its entirety. Our research, for the first time, canvasses and brings together the meaningful dimensions for measurement under a single conceptual frame. The developed framework incorporates wide NZ stakeholder views, increasing its relevance in the local context. It can be used to organise national measurement efforts in a more cohesive manner to better monitor medication safety progress over time. (Source: Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research)
