Administration of off ‐label medicines to paediatrics, self‐reported experiences and perceptions of nurses working in paediatric wards in Jordan
ConclusionsThe study revealed low levels of knowledge of off ‐label medicine use in children among nurses. The majority of respondents admitted to unknowingly administer medicines in an off‐label manner to paediatrics. The implementation of training programmes and workshops is very important to increase nurses’ awareness of the use of off‐label medici ne in children. Further development of the educational curriculum for nurses should cover such use of medicine in children. Multidisciplinary paediatric care should be encouraged, specifically the collaboration between nurses and clinical pharmacists. (Source: Journal...

Investigation of variables associated with medication nonadherence in patients with hypertension
ConclusionsClinical pharmacists should consider prescribing the least possible number of medications and improving patients ’ perceptions about the potential side effects of their medications. Furthermore, patients with comorbid diseases and those with poor HRQoL should be particularly addressed in future pharmaceutical care programs with the aim of improving medication adherence and health outcomes in patients with hy pertension. Inflammatory bowel disease: cost ‐driving factors and impact of cost sharing on outpatient resource utilization
ConclusionsThe finding confirms the existence of financial barriers to care in IBD, which may lead to suboptimal outpatient and, thus, the rapid worsening of the diseases. The finding of cost ‐driving factors allows the identification of high‐risk group for high expenditure, which can be used for future cost‐saving strategy. Incentivizing choice of community pharmacy
ConclusionsThe results suggest that patients are able to discern the complex nature (e.g. professional and business orientations) of pharmacists and the pharmacy industry, perceiving their care to be unaffected by incentive and loyalty programmes. This study illuminates the Saskatchewan public's perceptions of pharmacy incentive and loyalty programmes, a previously unstudied area of research. Market for biotechnology drugs: market analysis of insulin
ConclusionsThe observed results make evident the import dependence for the acquisition of insulin, which can lead to a national shortage and possible cases of death and sequelae from diabetes in patients who did not receive adequate treatment, besides contributing to the trade deficit. Characterizing pharmacist prescribers in Alberta using cluster analysis
ConclusionsAlthough legislation allowed Albertan pharmacists to have the broadest scope of prescribing authority, few are practicing with the fullest scope. Prescribing practice varies based on practice setting and support experience. Future research could explore factors influencing the types of adoption and measure the shifting of prescribing type over time. (Source: Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research)

The information is generally obtained from physicians and pharmacies. Information needs concern data protection and data security. Customers are mainly satisfied with the information received. However, their k nowledge only partly meets the national requirements on the information they should be provided with. (Source: Journal of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research)
