Performance comparison of two automated digital morphology analyzers for leukocyte differential in patients with malignant hematological diseases: Mindray MC-80 and Sysmex DI-60
CONCLUSIONS: The Mindray MC-80 demonstrated good performance for leukocyte differential in PB smears, notably exhibiting higher sensitivity for blasts identification than the DI-60.PMID:38212663 | DOI:10.1111/ijlh.14227 (Source: International Journal of Laboratory Hematology)

ICSH guidance for internal quality control policy for blood cell counters
Int J Lab Hematol. 2024 Jan 8. doi: 10.1111/ijlh.14212. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThis paper is a description of the ICSH guidance for internal quality control (IQC) policy for blood cell counters. It follows from and links to a separate ICSH review for such policies and practices. The ICSH has gathered information regarding the current state of practice through review of published guidance from regulatory bodies, a questionnaire to six major cell counter manufacturers and a survey issued to 191 diagnostic laboratories in four countries (China, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, and the United Kingdom) on their IQC practi...

SARS-CoV-2 infection is not associated with the emergence of monoclonal gammopathies
CONCLUSIONS: Our study suggests that the detection of MC during SARS-CoV-2 infection is most likely due to the hyperstimulation of the humoral immune system, as also occurs in other viral infections.PMID:38185475 | DOI:10.1111/ijlh.14225 (Source: International Journal of Laboratory Hematology)

Clinicopathologic features of relapsed CD19(-) B-ALL in CD19-targeted immunotherapy: Biological insights into relapse and LILRB1 as a novel B-cell marker for CD19(-) B lymphoblasts
CONCLUSION: LILRB1 can be used as a novel B-cell marker to identify CD19(-) B lymphoblasts. The emergence of CD19(-) B-ALL appears to be associated with complex cytogenetic evolutions. The mechanism of CD19(-) B-ALL relapse under anti-CD19 immune pressure remains to be explored by comprehensive molecular studies.PMID:38177979 | DOI:10.1111/ijlh.14226 (Source: International Journal of Laboratory Hematology)
