The influence of dead space in blood sampling needle on FVIII level and pharmacokinetic profiles in children with hemophilia
CONCLUSION: While using vacuum tubes for clotting indicators and PK profiles, the dead space of blood sampling needle should be eliminated in advance.PMID:38346146 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2314871 (Source: Hematology)

More about post-transplant cyclophosphamide in haploidentical grafts: full or reduced doses?
We present here the salient data of the attempts to diminish the doses of post-transplant cyclophosphamide which have been done and published worldwide, information that suggests that the conventional doses of post-transplant cyclophosphamide can be significantly reduced thus decreasing the toxicity, without compromising the effectiveness of the procedure, mainly the development of graft versus host disease.PMID:38332700 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2313357 (Source: Hematology)

Renal outcome in multiple myeloma patients with cast nephropathy: a retrospective analysis of potential predictive values on clinical and renal outcome
DISCUSSION: In summary, our data suggests, that a rapid start with systemic hematologic treatment in patients with MM and CN is crucial and achieving an early hematologic response is important for renal recovery. Moreover, achieving a deep hematologic response and subsequent renal recovery improves clinical outcome as reflected by an overall survival benefit.PMID:38329272 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2311600 (Source: Hematology)

Clinical features and outcomes of patients with acute myeloid leukemia: the single-center experience of 668 patients in China
CONCLUSION: In the treatment of adult AML patients, IA regimen is associated with a high CR rate and ORR rate and does not increase treatment-related toxicity. IA regimen prolongs OS and PFS in AML patients and reduces the likelihood of leukemia cells' subsequent infiltration into the central nervous system. There is a high correlation between the level of MRD after treatment and the patient's bone marrow recurrence. To obtain superior treatment effects for patients undergoing allo-HSCT, the MRD should be reduced to less than 0.001 before pretreatment. A negative MRD before allo-HSCT can prolong OS in patients with AML. We...

Clinical features and prognosis of chronic natural killer cell lymphoproliferative disorders
CONCLUSION: Most patients with CLPD-NK have inert progression and a good prognosis, whereas some patients have a poor prognosis after progressing to ANKL and combined with hemophagocytic syndrome. Abnormal NK cells invading the center suggest a high possibility of ANKL development, and immunosuppressants and hormones are effective treatments for this disease.PMID:38319083 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2307817 (Source: Hematology)

Effect of lncRNA XIST on acute myeloid leukemia cells via miR-142-5p-PFKP axis
In conclusion, down-regulation of lncRNA XIST can affect the progression of AML by regulating miR-142-5p.PMID:38305210 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2306444 (Source: Hematology)

Indicators of stress hematopoiesis in the blood predict COVID-19 progression in patients over 65 years old
CONCLUSION: Our results point to the important differences between age groups regarding CBC-related parameters of stress hematopoiesis during severe infection. Higher LIC, RDW and PDW levels were reliable in the early identification of COVID-19 progression only in the elderly.PMID:38305411 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2311006 (Source: Hematology)
