PHF19 before and post induction treatment possess favorable potency of reflecting treatment response to protease inhibitors, event-free survival, and overall survival in multiple myeloma patients
CONCLUSION: PHF19 is aberrantly high and declines post induction therapy, which simultaneously reflects unfavorable treatment response to protease inhibitors as well as shorter EFS and OS in MM patients.PMID:38511642 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2331389 (Source: Hematology)

Current status of conditioning regimens in haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation
Hematology. 2024 Dec;29(1):2332866. doi: 10.1080/16078454.2024.2332866. Epub 2024 Mar 21.ABSTRACTThe development of effective prophylaxis strategies against graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) has contributed to the widespread use of haploidentical related hematopoietic cell transplantation (Haplo-HCT). Currently, GVHD prophylaxis containing posttransplant cyclophosphamide (PTCY) is considered the standard of care in Haplo-HCT, and recent studies have shown comparable results for PTCY-based Haplo-HCT and HCT from other donor sources. The conditioning regimen plays an important role in eradicating tumor cells to prevent diseas...

Down-regulation of A20 mRNA expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from MDS patients
Hematology. 2024 Dec;29(1):2330851. doi: 10.1080/16078454.2024.2330851. Epub 2024 Mar 21.ABSTRACTMyelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is characterized by activated inflammatory signaling and affects prognosis. Targeting inflammatory signaling may provide a way to treat the disease. We were curious whether there were changes in A20 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of MDS patients. Therefore, we conducted a study with 60 clinical samples, including 30 MDS patients and 30 healthy controls. All patients with MDS were diagnosed and classified according to the criteria of the 2016 World Health Organization. The study was p...

LSP1 promotes the progression of acute myelogenous leukemia by regulating KSR/ERK signaling pathway and cell migration
In this study, we established shLSP1 cell line to analyze the function of LSP1 in AML. We observed high expression of LSP1 in AML patients, whereas it showed no expression in normal adults. Furthermore, we found that LSP1 expression was associated with disease prognosis. Our results indicate that LSP1 plays a crucial role in mediating proliferation and survival of leukemia cells through the KSR/ERK signaling pathway. Additionally, LSP1 promotes cell chemotaxis and homing by enhancing cell adhesion and migration. We also discovered that LSP1 confers chemotactic ability to leukemia cells in vivo. Finally, our study identifie...

Construction and validation of an < sup > 18 < /sup > F-FDG-PET/CT-based prognostic model to predict progression-free survival in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients
CONCLUSION: The PET/CT parameter SUVmax is closely related to the prognosis of myeloma patients. The nomogram constructed in this study based on PET/CT-related parameters and clinical indicators individually predicts the PFS rate of NDMM patients and enables further risk stratification of NDMM patients.PMID:38488443 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2024.2329029 (Source: Hematology)
