Identification of key genes and immune infiltration in multiple myeloma by bioinformatics analysis
CONCLUSION: Targeting CD24 and PTPRC as molecular markers of MM is valuable to MM therapy. Moreover, the immune cell infiltration will provide new insights into MM immunopathology.PMID:37815499 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2023.2264517 (Source: Hematology)

Identification of two novel β-globin gene mutations HBB: exon3del, HBB: c.-81A & gt;C
CONCLUSION: When the blood phenotype and clinical manifestations do not match the genotype, the presence of new mutants should be considered, and attention should be paid to further testing to avoid missing the diagnosis, which can help in clinical diagnosis and treatment, prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling.PMID:37815396 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2023.2265723 (Source: Hematology)

Artesunate reverses cytarabine resistance in acute myeloid leukemia by blocking the JAK/STAT3 signaling
CONCLUSIONS: In summary, ART enhanced the sensitivity of AML/AraC-resistant cells to AraC by modulating the JAK/STAT3 pathway.PMID:37815490 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2023.2255802 (Source: Hematology)

Real-world results of venetoclax combined with hypomethylating agents in young adults with relapsed/refractory acute myeloid leukemia
CONCLUSION: Our results showed that the combination of VEN + HMA appeared to be a highly effective and well-tolerated salvage therapy option for young patients with R/R AML, enabling more young patients to proceed to potentially curative allo-HSCT. However, additional, well-designed studies with larger numbers of patients are required to confirm the advantages of VEN + HMA in this population.PMID:37796109 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2023.2265206 (Source: Hematology)

Single-cell RNA seq analysis of erythroid cells reveals a specific sub-population of stress erythroid progenitors
CONCLUSION: The erythroid population was found to be heterogeneous, with a distinct sub-cell type constituting the stress erythroids; this may have important implications for our knowledge of steady-state and stress erythropoiesis, and the markers found in this cluster may prove useful for future research into the dynamics of stress erythroid progenitor cell differentiation.PMID:37791839 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2023.2261802 (Source: Hematology)

Description of multiple myeloma cases and assessment of survival and mortality factors in Madagascar
CONCLUSION: Patient survival is shorter than reported in the literature. The high mortality rate is due to comorbidities and limited access to recommended therapies.PMID:37746751 | DOI:10.1080/16078454.2023.2261803 (Source: Hematology)
