Infective Native Aortic Aneurysm: a Delphi Consensus Document on Treatment, Follow Up, and Definition of Cure
Evidence is lacking to guide the management of infective native aortic aneurysm (INAA). The aim of this study was to establish expert consensus on surgical and antimicrobial treatment and follow up, and to define when an INAA is considered cured. Reflections on the Future of Cardiovascular Protection in Vascular Surgery
We are grateful for the detailed and insightful comments by Joakim Nordanstig1 addressing our recent publication about the association between antithrombotic and lipid lowering therapy and improved survival after vascular surgery in Norway.2 We completely agree that optimal medical management goes far beyond the prescription of aspirin and statin and agree with all the examples given in the last paragraph regarding antithrombotic treatment, dyslipidaemia management, and antidiabetic therapies.
