Sema4D as a biomarker for Predicting rheumatoid arthritis disease activity
ConclusionThe serum Sema 4D level effectively reflects moderate to severe RA activity. Sema4D levels can be used together with conventional RA biomarkers to increase the diagnostic power of RA activity. The multiple regression algorithm method is promising in disease activity calculation. (Source: Clinical Rheumatology)

Respiratory infection risk in primary Sj ögren’s syndrome complicated with interstitial lung disease: a retrospective study
ConclusionAmong pSS-ILD patients, the most frequent type of ILD was nonspecific interstitial pneumonia. In patients with infection, bacteria were the most common pathogen. Higher levels of ESSDAI, CRP, ESR, and C3 may be correlated with increased infection risk. PAH and reduction of DLCO were identified  as independent risk factors.Key Points• ILD and infectious diseases severely affect pSS patient conditions.• Higher levels of ESSDAI, CRP, ESR, and C3 may be correlated with increased infection risks in pSS-ILD.• PAH and reduction of DLCO were identified as independent risk factors for lower respiratory infection. Safety and efficacy of biologics in childhood systemic lupus erythematosus: a critical systematic review
AbstractBiologic agents are increasingly being used to treat adult patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, the available data on biologic agents' use in childhood-onset SLE (cSLE) remains limited. To collate available evidence related to the efficacy and safety of using biologic agents in cSLE. The study followed the PRISMA checklist for reporting the data and conducted a thorough search using PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Scopus from January 2005 to August 2023. Only articles meeting specific criteria were included, focusing on cSLE, the use of biologic agents, and having outcome measures at six- and 12...

The risk factors for uveitis among psoriatic arthritis patients: a population-based cohort study
ConclusionPsA is associated with increased risk of uveitis. Past uveitis and treatment with etanercept were associated with higher risk of uveitis.Key Points•Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a major risk factor for uveitis with hazard ratio of 2.38 compared to healthy individuals without PsA.•Among PsA patients, the past event of uveitis and treatment with etanercept are risk factors for uveitis.•Uveitis in patients treated with biologics for their PsA requires topical therapy only in most of the cases. Identification of discriminatory factors and construction of nomograms for differentiating AOSD and sepsis
ConclusionThe nomogram models developed in this study are useful tools for differentiating between AOSD and sepsis.Key Points•The differential diagnosis between AOSD and sepsis has always been a challenge•Delayed treatment of AOSD may lead to serious complications•We developed two nomogram models to distinguish AOSD from sepsis, which were not previously reported•Our models can be used to guide clinical practice with good discrimination (Source: Clinical Rheumatology)
